Boston Comedy Legend Jimmy Tingle is one of the headliners of the 5th Annual Boston Comedy Arts Festival. Known as one of the top social and political humorists in America, Tingle takes the stage Friday, September 6 at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $18 for every show and student rush tickets are available for $14 at the door. Now in its fifth year, the Boston Comedy Arts Festival continues to kick-off the Fall with an explosion of comedy. This year, the festival runs from Tuesday September 3-Sunday September 8. It will include shows at ImprovBoston and at the Brattle Theatre. The festival begins with two performances from the famed Cambridge Footlights, and will also include shows with Kevin McDonald from Kids in the Hall and Jimmy Tingle. The festival will also see the return of improv from Junior Varsity and the Magnet Theater Tour Co. Stand-up highlights along with Jimmy Tingle include NYC comicsBoris Khyakin and Justin Williams, Boston comics Lamont Price and Matt D., and Matt White the winner of the 2013 Carolina's Funniest Comic. Community Works is offering limited tickets for a very special VIP Reception with comedian Wendy Liebman (@wendyliebman) and friends and will also be holding a live auction of autographed celebrity items during the comedy benefit SHARE A LAUGH on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at the Somerville Theatre. Limited tickets are available for the VIP Reception andare on sale online for $75, of which 75% of the proceeds will go directly to the Community Works member organization that is designated upon purchase. Audience members are asked to come prepared to partake in a live auction during the comedy benefit which will include signed books from Ray Romano and Bill Maher, DVD's of Jimmy Tingle, and much, much more.

Community Works presents SHARE A LAUGH, its 6th Annual Fundraiser to support its 32 member organizations working for social justice, with comedians Wendy Liebman, John Fugelsang, Jimmy Tingle, Chris Tabb, Kelly MacFarland, and Bethany Van Delft on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 7:30pm at the Somerville Theatre (55 Davis Square, Somerville, MA). Tickets are now on sale online and at the Somerville Theatre Box Office for $30, and a discount rate of $8 for students with a valid college ID at the door.

Actors' Shakespeare Project (ASP) continues its 8th season - Laughter, Loss & Longing ? with one of Shakespeare's later comedies, The Merry Wives of Windsor, directed by ASP resident acting company member Steven Barkhimer. The play previews on December 7th, 8th & 9th, and opens on Saturday, December 10th at 8:00pm at the newly opened Davis Square Theatre (formerly Jimmy Tingle's), 255 Elm Street, right in the heart of Davis Square in Somerville. For this production we hope to be long on the 'laughter' part of our theme and, the holidays and Davis Square are a perfect match for the escapades of the Merry Wives. 'It's the time of year when we should be laughing off the crap we have to go through the rest of the year,' Artistic Director Allyn Burrows said. 'And what better place to perform but in the space once operated by the hilarious comedian Jimmy Tingle.'
