The award-winning Company Theatre (TCT), serving as the South Shore region's theatrical destination since 1979, celebrates their 35th anniversary with the 2014 performance season, featuring the best productions in theatre, music, comedy and mystery.

Kicking of the year-long celebration, Broadway's roller-disco spectacle Xanadu explodes onto the stage from February 5 through 9. The roller-skating musical adventure is based on the cult movie classic, which starred Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly. 80's chart-topping tunes get the whole house dancing with a night of pure retro fun.

The 8-time Tony Award winning provocative rock musical Spring Awakening plays from February 21 through March 2. This heartfelt, sensitive story celebrates the unforgettable journey from youth to adulthood during the repressive environment of 19th century Germany, a time when proper people did not discuss intimacy. Appropriate for mature audiences.

From April 4 through 27, The 2006 Tony Award winning The Drowsy Chaperone delivers one sparkling song and dazzling dance after another. The curtain rises on a present-day musical theatre fanatic eager to share his infectious love for the 1928 Broadway musical by the same title. Uproariously funny and cleverly crafted. the rambunctious Broadway starlet's tale unfolds. Wacky characters appear, ruses are played, hi-jinks abound, spinning everyone into musical comedy euphoria!

The long awaited Tony Award-winning mega-musical masterpiece Les Miserables comes alive on The Company Theatre stage from July 24 through August 17. Victor Hugo's novel storyline is set in 19th Century France, told through a romantic musical score that has swept the world. Jean Valjean, released from 19 years of unjust imprisonment, finds a world of mistrust and mistreatment. Rebelliously he breaks parole in hopes of starting a new life, but is relentlessly pursued by police inspector Javert. Les Miserables tells the tale of the life-long struggle for redemption, capturing the powerful affirmation of the human spirit.

Full of poetry and longing, Tennessee Williams' beautiful play The Glass Menagerie performs from October 3 through 19. This stage classic is beloved as one of the most popular works of the American Theatre. Faded Southern Belle Amanda Wingfield lives on her memories in a depression era St. Louis apartment with her two grown children. Amanda pressures her son Tom to find the perfect gentleman caller for her fragile and shy daughter Laura. The newcomer's presence sends shockwaves through the family, causing cracks in the delicate fantasies of their shimmering, heightened illusion of life.

Based on the cherished big-screen holiday classic, White Christmas appears from November 28 through December 21. This uplifting musical adaptation features many classic Irving Berlin songs, stirring up nostalgia for a traditional holiday filled with family, friends, and frosty snow. A pair of suave singing and dancing WWII veterans team up with a duo of lovely singing sisters, en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge. When they learn that lodge owner and revered retired General is in danger of closing his beloved homestead, the performing quartet pulls out all the stops to save the lodge and the holidays. The holiday spirit will fill the heart of children and adults alike, and have you dreaming of a white Christmas!

New this season, TCT inaugurates a new works event, inspiring support for emerging playwrights, igniting new play production and development. The 1st annual Winter Shorts Play Festival, featuring original ten-minute short plays submitted and selected from the New England playwright community premieres on February 1 with performances at 3:00 pm and 7:30 pm.

he first edition of Winter Shorts features works written on the theme of "Winter Heat: plays that explore the playfulness, passion, pleasure, and power of interpersonal relationships". The Company Theatre also features a spectacular 2014 series of Special Events, featuring An We've Only Just Begun: The Carpenters Remembered (January 4), Jay Johnson: The Two and Only (January 11), I Want My MTV: Featuring Rubix Kube (January 18), and An Evening with Vincent Bugliosi (March 8), Jimmy Tingle's American Dream (March 21), Sing-along with Mamma Mia (March 22), Woodstock: The Movie (March 23), Divas with a Twist (April 29), Frank Santos Jr., Comedic Hypnotist (April 30) and Liza and Judy: Together Again (May 17).

The Academy of the Company Theatre also offers a 2014 performance season, including youth productions of Aladdin Jr. (March 14-16), Flat Stanley (November 1-2), and Teen Conservatory productions of RENT (January 24-26) and Our Town (May 9-11).

Tickets for all performances are now available. Theatrical performance tickets range from $23 to $39, special events tickets range from $10 to $36, ACT production tickets are $15.
