JOE'S PUB LIVE! Continues With Treya Lam, Trevor Bachman and More

Joe's Pub, a program of The Public Theater, presents its third week of JOE'S PUB LIVE!, a free series of live-streamed and archived performances from their iconic stage in New York City. This initiative serves to facilitate social connection during this time of physical distancing, so Joe's Pub will share concerts with their audiences.

ALBEMARLE Will Have a Reading at New Dramatists

New Dramatists hosts an alumni reading of OBIE-winner Caridad Svich's new play ALBEMARLE starring Jess Barbagallo (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Lyric Theatre; Orange Julius, Rattlestick Theatre), Vivia Font (Recent Alien Abductions, Soho Rep), and Stephanie Weeks (Armistead Maupin's Tales of the City, Netflix/NBC Universal) on March 26, 2020 at 3 PM at New Dramatists in New York City under the direction of Jessi D. Hill (Open, All for One/The Tank; Surely Goodness & Mercy, Keen Company)

This week our stage features Lebanese-American, New York-based pianist Tarek Yamani and the Tarek Yamani Trio; Becca Blackwell's latest deeply personal and deeply absurd solo show; Vietnamese pop star-turned protest singer Mai Khoi; Ryan Raftery's new satire IVANKA 2020; acclaimed lyricist and performer Charlotte Martin; celebrated comedienne Catherine Cohen; an album release concert from Divahn; a celebration of International Women's Day and Women's Month with ¡JEFAS!: A Celebration Of Latina Songwriters & Women In Music; and the return of Yemen Blues' brand of Yemenite chants swirled with jazz and rock grooves.

La MaMa Will Present GENERATOR: PESTILENCE PART 1

La MaMa in association with Allied Productions Inc. presents GENERATOR: Pestilence Part 1, the first of a three-part cycle and the most ambitious live art creation in the 35-year partnership of Jack Waters and Peter Cramer. Known for their challenging and innovative interventions in art and politics, GENERATOR is a homecoming, a return to Waters' and Cramer's theatrical roots at La MaMa where two of their earliest performance works premiered in 1987.

Queer|Art|Film's Fall 2019 Season Announced At IFC Center

Queer|Art, New York City's home for the creative and professional development of LGBTQ+ artists, is pleased to announce a special Fall season of Queer|Art|Film at IFC Center (323 Sixth Avenue at West 3rd St.), September 16-December 2. Organized by guest curators Vivian Crockett, Camilo Godoy, and Carlos Mottaa?"the season, titled Chicas y Fantasmas, explores the shells we inhabit to move through the world. Presented by four contemporary Latinx artists, the season assembles a fierce ensemble of showgirls, cyborgs, glam rockers, and two Chicana teens who defy gendered expectations, ableist norms, and society's limitations to actualize their own self-constructed identities and shape a vision of the world in which they want to live. A full itinerary follows. All screenings begin at 8pm.

Celebrate World Pride in NYC with LA MAMA SQUIRTS

LA MAMA SQUIRTS - presented by La MaMa, the Tony Award-winning theater in NYC, in association with Helix Queer Performance Network - will gather a collective of exciting voices from New York City's queer performance world, across multiple generations and with deep roots in the community to mark the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising, with a weekend of performances curated by three trans women, May 31 - June 2 at Ellen Stewart Theatre (66 East 4th Street) in Manhattan as part of World Pride celebration.

Curated by filmmakers Ira Sachs and Adam Baran, the season features films about (and starring) fierce, funny, and fabulous women, presented by a multigenerational lineup of queer drag icons, playwrights, and performance artists.

May is Lower East Side History Month, and Queer|Art is the new kid on the LES block, having recently relocated their offices from Nolita to the East Village this past year. Heralding their arrival to the neighborhood, they've organized four days of programming throughout May to celebrate the queer past, present, and future of their beloved new East Village home.

Queer|Art, the New York City-based non-profit supporting the creative and professional development of LGBTQ artists, continues the Winter 2019 season of Queer|Art|Film at IFC Center on March 4 and April 8. Queer|Art|Film, presented by HBO, is a monthly screening series in which some of New York's most unique artists present and discuss the films that have most inspired them. This season Queer Art's flipping the script by inviting celebrated drag queens to present and discuss films that have inspired their craft in post-screening kikis. Curated by Adam Baran and Brooklyn drag diva Lady Quesadilla, this season entitled 'Winter's a Drag,' serves as the sequel to the 2014 Summer of Drag season. More info is below; screenings begin at 8pm.
