Eric McCormack, Emmy Award winner for 'Will & Grace,' will play El Gallo, Lucas Grabeel from 'High School Musical' will play Matt, and Broadway star and Tony nominee Harry Groener will play Bellomy in 'The Fantasticks,' which concludes the 2008-2009 Reprise Theatre Company at the Freud Playhouse May 5-May 17 (press opening May 6).

The play with lyrics and music by UM alum Jerry Herman (A.B., '53) features beloved songs such as Hello, Dolly!, Put On Your Sunday Clothes, Ribbons Down My Back, Before the Parade Passes By, Elegance, It Only Takes A Moment, and So Long, Dearie. Herman's Tony Award-winning musical promises to be the thrilling conclusion to the Ring's season. The first Broadway show I ever saw was Hello Dolly! with Pearl Bailey and Cab Calloway. It changed my life forever. This show is a masterpiece.

On March 22nd, cabaret artiste Leanne Masterton will bring her acclaimed one woman tribute to Jerry Herman, Hello Jerry!, to the intimate Basement in London's Leicester Square Theatre. The revue was last seen in London at the Jermyn Street Theatre in September 2007.

The Show's the Star at 5th Avenue's 'DOLLY'

The 5th Avenue Theatre's production of 'Hello, Dolly', while holding onto the charm of the show, at times felt like it was marching through Jello. Starring the always wonderful Jenifer Lewis, the show was, on the whole, enjoyable, but really seemed like it could have used another week of rehearsals.

Legendary musical director Don Pippin, one of the leading conductors in the United States, has taken up the baton to lead the National Symphony Orchestra this week as Kennedy Center honors the accomplishments of Jerry Herman in JERRY HERMAN'S BROADWAY. The gifted Pippin has had a long and rich creative history with Herman as he has collaborated on the composers many works including such musicals as 'Ben Franklin in Paris', 'Mack and Mabel', 'Mame' and 'La Cage Aux Follies'.
