The producers of THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS, the exhilarating new Kander & Ebb musical, are pleased to announce a student rush policy. THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS begins previews on Thursday at the Lyceum Theatre (149 West 45th Street). Opening night is Sunday, October 31.

Due to popular demand, Tony, Grammy & Golden Globe Award winner Bernadette Peters and Tony & Emmy Award winner Elaine Stritch have extended their stay in the Broadway revival of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's Tony Award-winning masterpiece A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, directed by Tony Award-winner Trevor Nunn. Peters & Stritch were originally only scheduled to perform through Sunday, November 7, 2010 and will now stay with the production through its final performance at the Walter Kerr Theatre (219 West 48th Street) on Sunday, January 9, 2011 at 3:00 PM after 20 previews and 425 regular performances.

The 2010 - 2011 National Tour of SPRING AWAKENING is coming to Memphis on Saturday, November 13th. The 8-time Tony Award winning Broadway musical featuring, 'The most gorgeous Broadway score this decade,' (Entertainment Weekly) will play the Orpheum Theatre for one performance only, during this limited engagement.

The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson), Jeffrey Richards and Jerry Frankel will begin performances on Tuesday, October 19 for Daniel Sullivan's critically acclaimed production of THE MERCHANT OF VENICE at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 W. 44th Street). To kickoff the first week of performances of BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON and fittingly, the coming election season, producers of the show announce a partnership with ROCK THE VOTE organization in hopes to reach out and remind people to register to vote, especially as the midterm elections approach. As part of this partnership, on Friday, September 24th, volunteers from ROCK THE VOTE will be at the theatre at the beginning and at the end of the show with voter registration sign up sheets. There will be additional show days as well when volunteers will be there.

BroadwayWorld has learned that Stephen R. Buntrock will take over for Alexander Hanson in the role of Frederick Egerman in the Broadway revival of A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC on September 28, 2010. Hanson will take his final bow on September 26, 2010.

Michael Riedel reports in the New York Post this morning that Al Pacino's star power has earned The Merchant of Venice the winners spot for the fall's highest advance generating show. The production, which opens at the Broadhurst Theatre on November 7, 2010, has reportedly taken in approximately $4M, beating out all incoming fall plays and musicals.

The Tony Award-winning revival of HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical will bow early in the West End on September 4, 2010, producers have revealed. While the production was scheduled to run through January 2011, the producers have reportedly decided not to recast the show after the current cast's contracts are up on September 4. The production opened at the Gielgud Theatre in London's West End April 14th, 2010.
