The Hayes Theatre Co today announced the cast members for the upcoming romantic musical comedy, She Loves Me. Chosen for the inaugural Artist-Led Production Initiative, this heart-warming musical will charm audiences at Hayes Theatre Co from 24 August with tickets on sale now at hayestheatre.com.au.

Encompass New Opera Theatre will present the world premiere of Anna Christie with music by Edward Thomas set to a libretto by Joseph Masteroff, beginning on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 8pm, running through Sunday, October 21, 2018, at the Baruch Performing Arts Center (at 55 Lexington Avenue, entrance on 25th Street, between Lexington and Third Avenues).

Runway Theatre is proud to announce an incredible cast and creative team for the season opening production, She Loves Me! Featuring talented stage veterans from our local theatrical community, the cast and crew are already at work on the production which opens September 28th and runs for four weekends. BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that stage and screen star Barbara Harris has passed away after a battle with lung cancer, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. She was 83 years old.

Created in collaboration between Drama Desk award-winning playwright Adam Mathias and Bakerloo Theatre Project Artistic Director William Addis, this stunning, fast-paced, four person adaptation uses Shakespeare's text in a post-modern exploration of the English language's most enigmatic anti-hero. In the instant following his death, Hamlet awakens in a surreal dreamscape and must replay the pivotal moments of his tragedy with the help of his mother, his friend, and his love.

"It's kind of like I'm playing my grandparents,' said Hoffman, one of the cast members who learned Yiddish for this singular production.

Known for 'staging the world', Zorlu, presented us its first Broadway musical in Turkish back in the beginning of the year. A co-production between Zorlu and Talimhane, Fiddler on the Roof (Damdaki Kemanci) had a one night only performance on August 7 at the Harbiye Open Air Theatre.

Standing Room Only and Graceful Productions have announced a staged reading of the new musical Calvin Berger at the Hudson Backstage Theatre in Hollywood. With book, music, and lyrics by Barry Wyner and directed by Ovation Award-winner Richard Israel, the Calvin Berger staged reading will be presented today, August 10, and Saturday, August 11, at 8pm and Sunday, August 12, at 7pm. The cast will feature (in alphabetical order) Grace Kaufman, Julia Lester, Jason Eric Testa, and one more actor to be announced. The musical director is Anthony Lucca.          

The Broadway at Birdland concert series was proud to present 'More About The Melody,' hosted by Broadway cellist Mairi Dorman-Phaneuf. The one-night-only event took place on Monday, August 6.

The acoustics of Birdland, usually employed to perfectly show off the music coming from some of the finest Jazz musicians in the world was also up to the task of accurately accommodating the elegant sounds from the cello and artistry of Mairi Dorman-Phaneuf.
