TheaterWorks Hartford, under the leadership of Producing Artistic Director Rob Ruggiero and Board President Dina Plapler announced the recent election of board directors Fernando Ferro, Christopher Hayes, Stephanie Johnson and Christopher White.

From Dec. 7-9, Roundabout Theatre Company, with support from The National Endowment for the Arts will host Opening Stage Doors, the first-of-its-kind virtual convening to share tools and innovations in job training, mentorship, and job placement, with the goal of helping remove traditional barriers to off-stage performing-arts jobs.

Roundabout Theatre Company and Education at Roundabout announce a new virtual endeavor entitled RYNOW (Roundabout Youth New Original Works). RYNOW is a space for creative youth to collaborate, devise and share original works. 

In 1984, TheaterWorks' founder Steve Campo took a long hard look at Hartford's cultural landscape and decided to start a new theater company. From day one, TheaterWorks' mission was to provide Hartford with performances of important works by contemporary American playwrights a?" works otherwise not performed in the region, works that are high-spirited, highly charged, sometimes controversial, but always engaging. Thirty plus years later, TheaterWorks Hartford is ushering in a new 'era' with a redesigned logo, bold new branding, an updated website and a $5.7 million renovation of its Pearl Street home. 

Rob Ruggiero, TheaterWorks Producing Artistic Director announced today that the $5.7 million renovation of the theater's historic home is nearly complete - on time and on budget. TheaterWorks is welcoming the public to attend an Open House on Wednesday Oct 16 from 4-8pm to tour the space.

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director/CEO) and Education at Roundabout (Jennifer DiBella, Director of Education) are pleased to announce that Ridgeway High School in Memphis, TN will present the regional premiere of LOCKDOWN: AWAIT FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS. Written by Daniel Robert Sullivan and a team of teenagers from New York City, Lockdown: Await Further Instructions was developed in partnership with Roundabout Theatre Company's Education Department. The play, devised from the words and experiences of its co-creators, will have its regional world premiere at Ridgeway High School on November 1st and 2nd at 7:00pm, and November 3rd at 3:00pm. Tickets are available at the door. Ridgeway High School is located at 2009 Ridgeway Rd., Memphis, TN 38119.

The League of Professional Theatre Women will present a special event, 'BROADWAY/OFF-BROADWAY EDUCATIONAL THEATRE PRACTICES & CAREER PATHS' an opportunity to meet the artistic directors, education directors, education practitioners, and producers who provide career path resources for women in the theatre.

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) and Education at Roundabout (Jennifer DiBella, Director of Education) are pleased to announce that Baltimore School for the Arts in the US and Showdown Theatre Arts in the UK will present the London premiere of PROSPECT HIGH: BROOKLYN. Written by Daniel Robert Sullivan and a team of New York City teenagers, Prospect High: Brooklyn was developed in partnership with Education at Roundabout and the Fox Foundation Resident Actor Fellowships. The play is in the midst of a Rolling World Premiere in 23 high school productions across the US, September 2015 - September 2016, but this will be the very first international production.
