National Lottery Heritage Fund Grants Local Theatre £100,000

The Cambridge Arts Theatre Trust is excited to announce that it has secured a National Lottery Heritage Fund grant of £100,000 to support the cataloguing of the Theatre's historic archive. The project, made possible by money raised by National Lottery players, is titled 'Behind the Scenes: Saving and Sharing the Heritage of Cambridge Arts Theatre' and will unite and safeguard over 80 years of the Theatre's history.

The Recording Academy Announces Lineup for Texas Chapter's Anniversary Gala

The Recording Academy Texas Chapter is proud to announce sponsors and the full talent lineup for their upcoming 25th Anniversary Gala, celebrating 25 years of representing the voices of performers, songwriters, producers, engineers, and all music professionals in Texas, as well as members residing in Oklahoma and Mexico. The event, taking place on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at ACL Live (310 W. Willie Nelson Blvd #1B, Austin, TX 78701), will be made possible by contributions from sponsors including DELOITTE, Markey's Staging & Rental, PeerTracks, NHouse Music and Juice Consulting. The gala will also feature performances by GRAMMY®-winning and GRAMMY-nominated Texas Chapter members, including newly-announced Houston-based rapper Slim Thug. Ticket sales for non-members are on sale through ACL Live and proceeds from the evening will benefit MusiCares, the Recording Academy affiliated charity that aims to help safeguard the health and well-being of all music people.

Sarah Waters's THE NIGHT WATCH Will Tour For The First Time

The Original Theatre Company and York Theatre Royal present, from the international number one best-selling author Sarah Waters, THE NIGHT WATCH, adapted by Hattie Naylor (Ivan And The Dogs, Going Dark, As the Crow Flies and Bluebeard). First performed in 2016 at Manchester's Royal Exchange, the first revival of THE NIGHT WATCH opens at Devonshire Park Theatre, Eastbourne on 22 August, touring the UK until 23 November 2019.

Totem Pole Playhouse Offers Half Priced Tickets To SOUVENIR

Totem Pole Playhouse, America's summer theatre, located in Caledonia State Park between Gettysburg and Chambersburg, PA has announced the third production in the Playhouse's new summer subscription series, Souvenir by Stephen Temperley. The Playhouse is offering three half-price preview performances Friday, July 12 at 8pm and Saturday, July 13 at 2pm and 8pm. All seats are general admission and priced at $25.00.

Everybody, selected from the cast by lottery at each performance makes an epic journey to death, while searching for someone or something to validate his life. With 120 possible casting combinations, each performance will be truly unique.

The Old Vic Announces Casting For Lucy Prebble's A VERY EXPENSIVE POISON

The Old Vic today announces casting for Lucy Prebble's new play A Very Expensive Poison, based on the book by Luke Harding and directed by John Crowley. The cast includes Thomas Arnold, Tom Brooke, MyAnna Buring, Callum Coates, Marc Graham, Amanda Hadingue, Yasmine Holness-Dove, Lloyd Hutchinson, Robyn Moore, Peter Polycarpou, Sarah Seggari, Michael Shaeffer, Reece Shearsmith, Gavin Spokes and Bea Svistunenko. A Very Expensive Poison opens at The Old Vic on 5 September with previews from 20 August.

Pasadena's Free Reading Festival Returns July 26-28!

A Noise Within (ANW) is proud to announce the return of its Words Within Resident Artist Reading Festival from July 26 through July 28, 2019. ANW will partner with three Los Angeles-based theatre companies, Lower Depth Theatre Ensemble, East West Players, and Latino Theater Company, for the free reading festival, titled inVision. A Noise Within and its festival partners will produce eight staged readings over the course of three days at ANW's East Pasadena campus. This is the second reading festival ANW has produced. ANW's first reading festival, The American Dream, launched the classic repertory theatre company's 25th anniversary season when it premiered in summer 2016. The festival is an extension of ANW's popular Words Within reading series, which began over 10 years ago and to date has produced 46 staged reading performances by the company's resident artists.

Gamm Announces Change To 2019-2020 Season Lineup

The Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre (The Gamm), under the leadership of Artistic Director Tony Estrella, today announced the addition of Aaron Posner's new play JQA in the second slot of the 2019-2020 lineup. Estrella will direct the New England premiere of JQA, in which a diverse cast of four actors share the role of one-term American President John Quincy Adams. Branden Jacobs-Jenkins' An Octoroon, previously announced as the season's second play, will open The Gamm's 2020-2021 season instead. Joe Wilson, Jr., Coordinator of Activism through Performance and Resident Acting Company Member at Trinity Repertory Company, will direct Jacobs-Jenkins' Obie Award-winning play that explodes ideas about race and American identity. JQA runs from October 24-November 17 at The Gamm Theatre, 1245 Jefferson Blvd., Warwick, RI. Season subscriptions for Season 35 are on sale now. Single tickets go on sale in early August. The Academy Invites 842 To Membership; 50% Are Women

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is extending invitations to join the organization to 842 artists and executives who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures. The 2019 class is 50% women, 29% people of color, and represents 59 countries. Those who accept the invitations will be the only additions to the Academy's membership in 2019.
