Playhouse On Park To Produce Sensory-Friendly Performances In Season Ten Young Audience Series

The Miracle League of CT is will partner with Playhouse on Park in offering special sensory-friendly performances of Curious George and the Golden Meatball, and The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley, which are both featured in the Playhouse's 2018-2019 Young Audience Series. All tickets will be specially priced at $5 for these performances only, all seats reserved.   The Miracle League of CT offers opportunities for children with sensory issues and other special needs to enjoy educational and cultural activities. Upper Darby Summer Stage kicks off its 43rd season with "The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley, Jr." Based on the beloved children's book written by Jeff Brown, the musical tells the story of Stanley Lambchop, everyone's favorite two-dimensional hero. Featuring infectious songs and non-stop adventure, this production is a perfect introduction to the magic of theater. Performances are July 3, 5, and 6 at 10:30 am and on July 5 at 7:30 pm at the Upper Darby Performing Arts Center.

Kristi Stanley Releases Debut Album 'Heart Wide Open'

Kristi Stanley is part of a world-famous family long associated with traditional bluegrass music, but her debut album, “Heart Wide Open” (Union House Records), has an unmistakable country flavor. That should come as no surprise, considering the artist's upbringing in Pikeville, Kentucky, an area rich in both musical genres, and just a few miles from Clinch Mountain, Virginia, where the Stanley Brothers and her future husband, Ralph Stanley II, resided.

Opening This Weekend ARSENIC AND OLD LACE t The Long Beach Playhouse

For 76 years, Kesselring's play, Arsenic and Old Lace, has enchanted audiences with its two sweet old sisters who occasionally feel the need to release a worthy roomer of his lonely suffering with a sip of their homemade Elderberry wine. Added to their misguided mayhem are a lovesick nephew and his disfigured and dangerously insane brother and the sisters' delusional charge who believes he's Teddy Roosevelt. Jeff Brown is the show's director. He's a 40 year veteran with experience in all aspects of theater. Brown has his own take on why this show continues to be an audience favorite.

Forward Flux Productions is thrilled to announce that Chisa Hutchinson will be the special guest playwright at The Flux Salon this summer. She will be workshopping her new play Kin with a local cast and the process will culminate in a one night only presentation on July 17th. The Salon event will start at 7pm with a rooftop reception with Chisa, and then move to a near-by private location for a reading of the play. Audiences will remember Hutchinson as the playwright of Forward Flux's The Wedding Gift, seen last season as part of the companys' double feature.
