Marylouise Burke (True West) and Andre De Shields (Hdestown) are the recipients of the annual Richard Seff Award presented by the Actors' Equity Foundation to veteran female and male character actors for the best performance in a supporting role in a Broadway or Off-Broadway production.  The announcement was made by Judy Rice, president of the Foundation, which administers the award.

The Tony Awards Administration Committee has been meeting all year to discuss the eligibility of the 2018-19 Broadway productions all leading up to Tuesdays big announcement... the Tony nominations.

Tony Awards Administration Committee met today for the final time this season and confirmed the eligibility status of ten Broadway productions for the 2019 American Theatre Wing's Tony Awards®. The Tony Awards Administration Committee met a total of four times throughout the 2018-2019 season to decide the eligibility for the 73rd Annual Tony Awards.

The 2019 Broadway Cares Easter Bonnet Competition was held earlier this week. The Easter Bonnet Competition (#broadwaybonnets) is the culmination celebration of six weeks of fundraising by Broadway, Off-Broadway and national touring companies.

Jackson talks about how her friend, Nuria Espert, who played Lear in Barcelona, was the person who told her to play Lear herself. 'King Lear' star Ruth Wilson was a guest on last night's episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. During the interview, Wilson recalled when she was in the show 'Header' at the National Theatre and she had to think fast during a live performance when someone from the audience called out, 'Is there a doctor in the house?'
