Last week, I introduced you to ten performers in Signature Theatre's current production of Kander and Ebb's final, complete collaboration, The Scottsboro Boys, which runs through July 1st. This included eight of the nine gentlemen who play the African American men who were falsely accused of raping two Caucasian women, as well as two others who play the minstrel characters known as Mr. Bones and Mr. Tambo.

The American Tap Dance Foundation's TAP DANCE AWARDS will be presented on Tuesday, July 10 at the Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theater, Symphony Space at 7pm. The ceremony will honor winners of the organization's Hoofer and Tap Preservation Awards and include inductions into the ATDF Tap Dance Hall of Fame. Just last night, the 2018 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway were handed out to recipients in 19 categories, with three honorary awards also bestowed. The Muny announced today that Grammy Award-winner Nathan Lee Graham will play the title role in The Wiz. Starring alongside Graham will be Jared Grimes as Scarecrow, Mykal Kilgore as Lion and James T. Lane as Tinman. In its first Muny staging in 36 years, The Wiz is the second production of the historic outdoor theatre's centennial season. The Wiz is directed by Denis Jones and choreographed by Camille A. Brown with music direction by Darryl Archibald. The Wiz is proudly sponsored by Wells Fargo Advisors.

Broadway's Robert Taylor, Jr. of 'SpongeBob SquarePants' has released a 'Hip-Hop Dancehall' recording - 'Rock That Body Gyal' - written by Robert Taylor, Jr. and produced by Bike Tyson and Jason Chapman.
