THE JIMMY AWARDS is pleased to announce the 2018 INSPIRING TEACHER AWARD presented by WELLS FARGO to Janine Papin, Trinity Preparatory School, Winter Park, Florida and Nadine Love, William R. The six coaches - Lisa Brescia, MaryAnn Hu, Adam Kantor, Howard McGillin, Natalie Weiss, And Schele Williams - will mentor the 80 high school students from across America who will compete for the Jimmy Award for Best Performance by an Actor and Actress.

It's the season of graduations and as high schoolers head off to college, it great to look back on all they've accomplished. Two local theater teens, Jasmine Forsberg and Tony Moreno are moving on to the next steps in their training and theater careers, but before they do they will perform in a Winter Park Playhouse Spotlight Cabaret. I had a chance to catch up with Jasmine and Tony as they prepare.

Jasmine Forsberg and Tony Moreno command the cabaret stage as they perform a new cabaret Rising Stars: Broadway Bound which will showcase the two graduating High School seniors performing a host of Broadway tunes and standards.

Next month, Mad Cow Theatre will open its 20th season with 1776, the Tony Award-winning musical which celebrates the creation of America's Declaration of Independence. Mad Cow's unique production, which features an exclusively female cast, will run from September 23 through October 23 in Mad Cow's Harriet Theater, located on the second floor of 54 West Church Street in Downtown Orlando.
