North Shore Animal League America, the world's largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization, will hold its annual Celebrity Gala on Today, November 18th at 7:00 pm at the Mandarin Oriental in New York City. A stellar line up of attendees from all sectors of New York's animal-loving community are expected. Actress/comedienne Pam Stone will host the evening which will be highlighted by Bill Abbott, President & CEO of Crown Media Family Networks honored with the Crystal Collar Award. Three NY Metro area Mutt-i-grees Curriculum® Classroom Canines will also be honored. Musical guest and renowned animal activist Belinda Carlisle will complete the memorable evening with a musical performance.

The Oakland Symphony, Michael Morgan Music Director and conductor, will be joined by guest violinist Kelly Hall-Tompkins—currently on Broadway as the Fiddler in Fiddler on the Roof-- and members of its acclaimed Oakland Symphony Youth Orchestra for Lost Romantic Symphonies Today, November 18, at 8 pm at the Paramount Theatre. The concert will feature Hall-Tompkins performing the U.S. premiere of Siegfried Matthus' new violin concerto, Dream of a Summer Night, along with John Williams' Theme from Schindler's List and Fiddler on the Roof. The program also includes Joachim Raff's rarely performedSymphony No. 3, and the Oakland Symphony Youth Orchestra, back from its Cuban Tour, will join the Symphony for Gershwin's Cuban Overture. The concert will be preceded by a talk by John Kendall-Bailey at 7 pm that is free to ticket holders and the entire evening is sponsored by The Grubb Company. Tickets are priced $25-$80 and may be purchased at www.oaklandsymphony.org or by calling 510-444-0802.

Fiddler on the Roof's violin soloist, Kelly Hall-Tompkins, will perform a pre-show concert at a special event screening of the 1971 film of Fiddler on the Roof on Monday, June 27th at the United Palace of Cultural Arts (4140 Broadway at W. 175th St.. Andre De Shields talks THE WIZ and GOTTA DANCE live tonight (Monday,  November 23) with NBC-TV's Janice Huff on News 4 New York at 7:00 PM.  De Shields, who created the title role in the original 1975 Broadway production of the landmark musical (which won 7 Tony Awards including Best Musical), will talk about the show's 40th anniversary, the upcoming The Wiz Live! which airs on NBC December 3 at 8 PM ET and his current show GOTTA DANCE.
