To celebrate its 25th season, DANCE NOW is presenting a series of online events featuring new and archival digital works by more than 40 innovative dance makers, interviews with artists, artist-to audience celebrations, and much more. The DANCE NOW Story will be told in six monthly chapters starting September 10, 2020 through May 2021.

DANCE NOW will celebrate its 25th anniversary with the DANCE NOW STORY-a reimagined festival composed of a series of online events featuring more than 40 artists. Traditionally held each year immediately after Labor Day, the DANCE NOW Festival is known as the kick-off to the dance season in New York City.

Schedule Announced For Anna, Darrin, David, Eleanor, Jess, Katie, Leslie & Weena: The Door's Unlocked

For 7 days, Katie Workum Dance will present Anna, Darrin, David, Eleanor, jess, Katie, Leslie & Weena: The Door's Unlocked, an immersive, multi-platformed, week-long event with daily rotating performances, hybrid viewing-doing sessions, and other activated public engagements housed in Foley Gallery at 59 Orchard Street in New York, NY. The dances, the dancers, the actions, the contents of their work will shift day and night, and they invite you inside to warm up and unfold with them.

THE TRANSFIGURATION OF BENJAMIN BANNEKER Comes to La MaMa

Theodora Skipitares has achieved renown for her large-scale puppetry epics on such topics as physics, genetics and medicine. An early American giant of science is the subject of her latest multi-media spectacle, 'The Transfiguration of Benjamin Banneker.' It celebrates the life of the free black man who, living in Maryland from 1731 to 1806, became one of his era's most outstanding engineers and astronomers. La MaMa will present the world premiere of the piece January 23 to February 2 in its Ellen Stewart Theatre, at 66 East Fourth Street.

SEX TAPE + NUPTIAL BLITZ At The Flea Theater Begins January 8

Choreographer Gabrielle Revlock presents two works, SEX TAPE and Nuptial Blitz, January 8-12, 2020 (7pm Wed-Sat, 3pm Sun) at The Flea, a staple of New York City's downtown performing arts scene located at 20 Thomas Street in Tribeca. Tickets cost $20 and are available by phone at 212-226-0051 or online at TheFlea.org. A restorative contact class ($12 drop in) will be offered Sunday, January 12, 11:30am-1pm:
