Universal Pictures today announced release dates for two new films in the iconic Halloween series.

Mother and daughter swapping bodies. To me it reminds of the movie filmed in 2003, starred by Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis, which was my only reference to the title. Fortunately, from the show's program I was able to read more of its history and was surprised: it's based on a book published in 1972 and has been made into several films and now just a few years back into a musical! (The reasons why the mother and daughter switch places varies quite much depending on the version, so don't except a Chinese restaurant and fortune cookies on this one!)

Acclaimed writer and director Rian Johnson (Brick, Looper, Star Wars: The Last Jedi) pays tribute to mystery mastermind Agatha Christie in KNIVES OUT, a fun, modern-day murder mystery where everyone is a suspect. 

REELZ today announced new original programming for June 2019 including four new specials, a new documentary and a returning series. Kicking off the June premieres is the special Ghostbusters: Behind Closed Doors about the movie that surprised everyone and became a cultural phenomenon with its perfect mix of stars, special effects and laughs. In the documentary Elton John: Ten Days That Rocked the remarkable days that molded the music legend's life are revealed. As a solo artist Elton John doesn't worry about a band break up but that's not the case for members of Mötley Crüe, Guns N' Roses, New Kids on the Block and the Spice Girls whose splitting up stories take center stage in fan favorite returning series Breaking the Band. Real stories behind the music continue with the special The Michael Jackson Story examining the King of Pop's meteoric rise to fame and legacy tarnished by controversy. And finally the special Farrah Fawcett: Behind Closed Doors is an intimate look at the life of the beloved star who left an everlasting mark on entertainment and culture.

GLAAD, the world's largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) media advocacy organization, announced today that star of the Broadway LBGTQ-themed musical phenomenon "The Prom," Caitlin Kinnunen, will perform the show's LGBTQ youth anthem 'Unruly Heart' with the NYC Youth Pride Chorus at the 30th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in New York on Saturday, May 4, 2019.

Epic rock riffs and majestic symphonic strings will come together in perfect harmony as Pacific Symphony pays tribute to one of the greatest bands of all time. Joined by high energy band and vocalists Windborne, the Symphony performs hits such as "Bohemian Rhapsody," "We Are the Champions," "Killer Queen," "Crazy Little Thing Called Love," "Another One Bites the Dust" and many more! The orchestra opens the show with a performance by violinist Aubree Oliverson of Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2, Gardel's "Por una Cabeza" (the tango heard in "Scent of a Woman" and in the famous Arnold Schwarzenegger/Jamie Lee Curtis dance scene in "True Lies") and a medley of hits by The Beatles.

Miramax has preemptively acquired the rights to Peter Hoare's comedy pitch, THE TWENTY YEAR. Hoare's writing credits include KEVIN CAN WAIT and STANDING UP, FALLING DOWN, which will premiere at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival. The studio is fast tracking development with Matthew Anderson at Miramax supervising the comedy.  

As part of Amazon's new film strategy of straight-to-service titles and starry Sundance buys the now studio giant has also an eye on the best indie films the world has to offer- even if the title is a college thesis.

Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter Jason Mraz will headline Shane's Inspiration's star-studded gala on Friday evening, March 29th at The Beverly Hills Hotel. The 'The Greatest Playground Reimagined' celebration will be co-hosted by Carrie Ann Inaba ( The Talk/Dancing with the Stars). Tim Allen recently wrapped the 6th season of his hit sitcom "Last Man Standing" on ABC. He can currently be seen performing stand-up to sold-out crowds at venues across the country. Allen can next be seen starring in Netflix's new dark comedy film "El Camino Christmas" along with Vincent D'Onofrio, Luke Grimes, Dax Shepard, Kimberly Quinn and Jimmy O. The film is expected to be released later this year around Christmas. He will also be reprising his role as Buzz Lightyear in "Toy Story 4" set for release in 2019.

The International Cinematographers Guild Publicists (ICG, IATSE Local 600) will debut its new award The Henri Bollinger Award at the 56th annual International Cinematographers Guild's Publicists Awards Luncheon on February 22 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, it was announced today by Tim Menke, chair of the ICG Publicists Awards. This award, named after the renowned award-winning entertainment industry publicist Henri Bollinger, will be presented to Bollinger posthumously as the first recipient.  His wife Sandy will accept on his behalf.
