THE PLAYWRITING COLLECTIVE, in association with HERE ARTS CENTER, proudly presents Joshua Young's WHO MOURNS FOR BOB THE GOON?, directed by Lucia Bellini. The four week limited engagement will be at HERE Arts Center, located at 145 6th Ave. (enter on Dominick, 1 Block South of Spring). This production is a part of SubletSeries@HERE: a curated rental program, which provides artists with subsidized space and equipment, as well as technical support. The American Theatre Wing (Heather Hitchens, President) and The Village Voice (Peter Barbey, Owner) are thrilled to announce the winners of the 61st Annual Obie Awards. Rajiv Joseph's Guards at the Taj, produced by the Atlantic Theater Company, received the Obie Award® for Best New American Play, which is accompanied by a $1,000 prize. Legendary actor/dancer/choreographer Carmen de Lavallade and renowned playwright A.R. Gurney each received a special Obie Award® for Lifetime Achievement. Obie and Screen Actors Guild® Award-winning actress Lea DeLaria returned as host of this year's ceremony, which was held at Webster Hall (125 East 11th Street). Following two sold-out NYC engagements, The Woodsman, will conclude its critically-lauded Off-Broadway run on Sunday, May 29, 2016 (following the 7:30pm performance) at New World Stages - Stage 5 (340 West 50th Street, NYC). The production began performances on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 and just celebrated it's 100th performance over the weekend. Check out photos from the special night below!

Nominations for the 2016 Fred and Adele Astaire Awards, which honor outstanding dance and choreography on stage and screen, were announced just yesterday at the Friar's Club by New York Post columnist Michael Riedel. For the first time, the Fred and Adele Astaire Awards have explored recognizing excellence in dance, movement, and choreography off-Broadway. Twenty eligible shows in the non-profit and commercial off-Broadway arenas met the eligibility requirements and were considered.
