Starting today, November 17, Center Theatre Group will host karaoke following every Today night performance of 'Spamilton' at the Kirk Douglas Theatre.

For the last 25 years, Gerardo Alessandrini has paid homage to the Great American Musical in the best way he knows how, by skewering it relentlessly. It is an arena where nothing is off limits no diva, no composer, and no quirk of the genre, which is why his FORBIDDEN BROADWAY revues are as beloved as any book musical to grace the Great White Way. Now, the biggest game-changer since Rogers and Hammerstein, Andrew Lloyd Webber, or Stephen Sondheim came on the scene, has given him fodder for a new installment in his popular franchise - Lin-Manuel Miranda and his multi-Tony Award-winning mega-hit, HAMILTON: An American Musical.

Center Theatre Group has announced the casting for the West Coast premiere of the hit musical parody 'Spamilton,' created, written and directed by Gerard Alessandrini. Currently in rehearsals, 'Spamilton' begins previews November 5, opens November 12 and continues through December 31, 2017, at the Kirk Douglas Theatre. Art-In-Relation (A.I.R.), announces a grand benefit performance of 'Broadway-LA.' The event will be performed by a cast of 70 adults and youth as well as an instrumental combo. Mr Sills is thrilled with the evolution of this production as it combines veteran professionals with Broadway credits with up and coming artists, as well as developing youth.

iHeartRadio and Universal Broadcasting Network's 'On The Rocks Radio Show host Alexander Rodriguez will be making his fourth return to Rockwell Table & Stage hit the stage on January 30th - with 'Sippin On A Song' - a roller coaster of stories, audience participation, and guest performers, belted out by your host featuring music from stage, screen and pop.

My favorite part of the evening was the inclusion of the standards all of which are nicely suited to Stolper's voice and delivery. They were Sondheim's 'Move On' from Sunday in the Park with George. a gorgeous rendition of 'Something Good' sung originally by Julie Andrews in the film The Sound of Music, and lastly Carole King's 'Beautiful', all adding uber positive touches to Stolper's creative and personal journey thus far. She concluded as she had begun with Peter Pan, only this time with Scott Alan's lovely contemporary perspective  'Never Never Land (Fly Away)'.

On Monday, February 8 LA's Next Great Stage Star 2016 Presented by Princess Cruises came to an exciting conclusion on the mainstage of the NoHo Arts Center. After an amazing 90-minute program in which the 20 contestants gave 150% to their uptempo songs from Broadway shows, fifteen contestants were eliminated and the top five finalists selected during the first intermision. It was decided, like last year from the consensus of the judges, to add a sixth contestant. But when judges' votes were tabulated, there emerged a three-way tie between contestants James Padilla, Bethany Baderdeen and Edward Anderson. Each of these three presented a song and Edward Anderson was announced as the sixth finalist. Then each of the six proceeded to perform a second number after which the distinguished panel of 15 judges made the final decision during the second intermission. Musical director par excellence James Lent accompanied at the piano throughout the three hour show.
