LA Opera has commissioned composer and librettist Carla Lucero to write The Three Women of Jerusalem (Las Tres Mujeres de Jerusalén), an opera to be performed in 2022 by a cast of hundreds in a monumental staging at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, with hundreds of additional performers joining in virtually from around the world.

On February 26th, Vocal Arts DC presents American baritone Rod Gilfry in a virtual concert with pianist Peter Walsh. LA Opera announced today that it is postponing, reimagining or canceling all currently scheduled in-person programming for the remainder of the 2020/21 season due to concerns for artist and patron safety regarding COVID-19. Recent news regarding the development of vaccines has reinspired confidence in the company's ability to return to normal production for the 2021/22 season, which will be a combination of rescheduled and new programming.
