On March 19, LA Opera will present two performances of Carla Lucero's The Three Women of Jerusalem (Las tres mujeres de Jerusalén), conducted by Music Director James Conlon and performed by a cast of hundreds in a monumental staging at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels.

LA Opera will present a rare staged production of Bach's St. Matthew Passion from March 12 through 27, 2022, conducted by Music Director James Conlon. 

Music Director James Conlon will conduct three mainstage productions and Colombian-American conductor Lina González-Granados will make her company debut as Resident Conductor, the first Latina to hold a high-ranking conducting position with a major U.S. opera company. 

New England Conservatory has announced a series of fall master classes in-person and streaming live from the Boston campus this fall. Continuing with the technological innovations made during the pandemic, digital master classes and events by world-class artists open the doors of the Conservatory to anyone watching around the world.

LA Opera has opened their 35th season with Verdi's IL TROVATORE. Conducted by James Conlon and directed by Francisco Negrín, live performances at The Dorothy Chandler Pavilion through October 10th will be supplemented by two live streams October 3rd and 6th. IL TROVATORE stars Guanqun Yu in the role of Leonora. Had the chance to query Guanqun on her vocal regimen and her lightbulb moment when she realized she wanted a career singing opera.

LA Opera opens its 2021/22 season on September 18, 2021, with Giuseppe Verdi's Il Trovatore, marking its official return to fully staged productions for in-person audiences for the first time since March 8, 2020. A new vaccination policy, along with a new, state-of-the-art air filtration system and enhanced cleaning protocols, will ensure the best and safest possible experience for audiences, artists and staff, the company's top priority.
