The World Premiere of STRAIGHT, a new play written by Scott Elmegreen and Drew Fornarola and directed by Andy Sandberg (Application Pending) will open Off-Broadway this February at the Acorn Theatre @ Theater Row (410 W 42nd Street, New York, NY 10036).  Starring Jake Epstein and Thomas E. Sullivan, STRAIGHT begins previews on February 9, 2016, with an opening night currently scheduled for February 29, 2016. STRAIGHT will run through May 8, 2016. Ghostlight Records will highlight the beloved score for The Bridges of Madison County in its exclusive iTunes podcast series 'Ghostlight Shines On,' in which artists explore their albums in-depth, track-by-track, with music interwoven with commentary. In the series, key figures from each musical discuss the songs, recording the album, and share personal stories behind the music. The Bridges of Madison County, which won 2014 Tony Awards for Best Score and Best Orchestrations, is currently on a national tour through July 2016. The podcast includes remarks from three-time Tony Award winning composer Jason Robert Brown and the show's original leading lady Kelli O'Hara, who earned her fifth Tony Award nomination for this role. Coming to the Durham Performing Arts Center from September 23rd-October 4th is the national touring production of the Tony and Grammy Award-Winning Broadway Hit, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical featuring Liam Tobin as Gerry Goffin. A role originated on Broadway by Jake Epstein.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect when walking into Therefore Choose Life, a new play based on a true story by Broadway leading man Jake Epstein and his mother Kathy Kacer, produced by The Harold Green Jewish Theatre Company. The play is about a man (Joseph, played by Avery Saltzman) who is married during the holocaust, and presumes his wife dead after being separated in a concentration camp. After the war he moves to Toronto and eventually remarries and has a son, never forgetting the love he lost. Thirty years later, just before his 25th wedding anniversary, he learns his first wife is alive and coming to see him.
