The Riant Theatre has announced that it will stage CODE OF SILENCE a drama Inspired by the 1997 Infamous case in the Bronx, in which a NY police officer was Indicted for using excessive force on a teen and killing him, as a featured production within the Strawberry Theater One-Act Festival, today, August 20th through August 31st at the Theatre at St. Clement's, 423 West 46th St. in Manhattan.

The Deconstructive Theatre Project presents The Orpheus Variations, conceived by Adam J. Thompson and developed collaboratively among company members. Adam J. Thompson directs cast members Jessica Annunziata, Jen Browne, Stephen Conroy, Amanda Dieli, Sarah Isaacson, Meghan E. Kennedy, Robert Kitchens, and Peter Van Hyning. Five performances will be held at HERE, 145 6th Avenue (1 blocks south of Spring) in NYC from tonight, June 27-30, 2013.

Clarinetist Thomas Piercy Brings TOKYO TO NEW YORK Today

NYC and Tokyo-based clarinetist, Thomas Piercy performs two concerts of new music by contemporary Japanese composers based on their thoughts about NYC and works by non-Japanese composers influenced or inspired by Japan. The concerts will be visually backed by projections of photos of New York City by photographer Christina Boers and photos of Tokyo by Thomas Piercy. Many of the pieces have been composed for and premiered by Mr. Piercy. Several of the pieces include the combination of Western classical instruments with traditional Japanese instruments (shakuhachi and hichiriki).

An estimated 110 million viewers will tune into Super Bowl 47 on February 3rd, and another 70,000 lucky fans will pack the Mercedes-Benz Superdome to watch the game up close. Traditionally, football's biggest game has been reserved for the guys, but the Super Bowl is increasingly popular among female viewers. In fact, 46% of television viewers who tuned into Super Bowl 46 were women, according to Nielsen Media. Even so, many women still don't know much about football and may feel left out of the action on Super Bowl Sunday. Fortunately, the new eBook Super Bowl 47: The Girl's Guide to the Big Game provides a wealth of information and fun tips to ensure those new to football have a blast during this year's championship.

East Lynne Theater Company Receives Grant from The Puffin Foundation

The Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company has announced that it has received a $1,500 grant from the prestigious Puffin Foundation to help fund two performances of '“Emma Goldman: My Life.' In 2008, ELTC received funding from this foundation to take its 'Paul Robeson Through His Words and Music' to Saint James Presbyterian Church in Harlem.
