Founding Artistic Director Akia Squitieri introduces the cast of Rising Sun Performance Company's new Hybrid workshop production of 'City Of Dark' which will be Live Streamed from the Stage of the theatre at the 14th Street Y.

Founding Artistic Director Akia, announced today that Rising Sun Performance Company has invited 8 new artists to join its resident ensemble company. These artistic relationships grew from the company’s internal artistic development programs and virtual programming last season. 

The play lineup has been announced for the Rites of Spring, Rising Sun Performance Company's upcoming Virtual Theatre Festival. These talents come from Indie, Regional, and Off-Broadway theatre, and the plays will be presented as LIVE virtual performances on Saturday, March 13th at 8 PM and Sunday, March 14th at 5 PM.

Founding Artistic Director Akia Squitieri announced the Creative Teams for Rising Sun Performance Company's 'The Rites of Spring' Virtual Theatre Festival today. 'Rites of Spring' was co-conceived by the staff and creatives of Rising Sun Performance Company, featuring the talents of 60 Artists.

Streaming Live exactly one year after theaters have been closed, this virtual play festival will offer eight original plays focused on spring’s renewal, hope, and various traditions. Through Rites of Spring, we continue our exploration of this ever-changing and growing new medium, and expand on how we foster theatrical creativity. 

Earlier this month, it was announced that Indie Art Today, a new podcast dedicated to covering independent, non-commercial artists - including those in the Off-Broadway and Off-Off-Broadway communities - was launching in the midst of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

Founding Artistic Director Akia, announced today that Rising Sun Performance Company recently concluded its ensemble auditions. This was the first open call since 2017 held specifically for resident ensemble members.

This week, the production staff of A Therapy Session with Myself announced that the production's last performance will be on May 16th, 2020 - one year after its first performance at the Kraine Theater, and sixteen months after its world premiere at the Hudson Guild Theatre as part of the 2019 NYWinterfest.

Love Letters To My Children,a new play by Rotem Weiner selected for the 'StrasbergWorks' program, will have three performances at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute from Tuesday July 12 through Thursday July 14 starting at 7:30PM. Charles Ouda directs. The cast features Ita Korenzecher, Ben Rademacher, John Carbone, Francesco Grossi, Terilyn Elise Eisenhauer, Ana Ribeiro and Terence Schweizer.
