The Suzi Bass Awards revealed nominations for the 2016-2017 Atlanta professional theatre season on Monday evening, September 18, to patrons and industry artists.

Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET) is proud to announce that its upcoming season will mark the professional theatre's 25th Silver Anniversary, exclusively sponsored by The Thoresen Foundation. Co-Founder and Artistic Director Robert J. Farley has announced a special lineup of shows for this milestone and says, Our 25th Silver Anniversary is going to be one big party all year long. Each play I have selected to celebrate this occasion has been chosen as a tribute to our subscribers, donors, sponsors, and supporters.

CAKEWALK is an official selection of the 2017 Atlanta Musical Theatre Festival. With lyrics and a book by Beverly Trader Austin and mucic by Bryan Mercer, the new musical will have its world premiere on July 31 at Out Front Theatre.

Atlanta's nationally acclaimed Alliance Theatre presents present Cinderella and Fella, a contemporary musical spin on the Cinderella fairytale. Rosemary Newcott, the Sally G. Tomlinson Artistic Director of Theatre for Youth and Families, directs this family friendly one-act production. Cinderella and Fella will run twice a day on Saturdays and Sundays,  now through April, 2017. Opening night is tonight, March 21, and BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!

Serenbe Playhouse, recipient of the prestigious American Theatre Wing grant, and recently honored with the most Suzi Bass Awards for a musical in Atlanta (Miss Saigon), is pleased to present GREASE, by Jim Jacobs & Warren Casey. The show is directed by Brian Clowdus with music direction by Chris Brent Davis and choreography by Bubba Carr. The show opens on March 23rd and runs through April 16th, only. Performance times are Wednesdays through Sundays at 8pm.
