The Coronet Theatre has announced that the cast for master playwright Brian Friel's Afterplay, directed by John Haidar, will be Mariah Gale and Rory Keenan.

This March, one of the leading Shakespearean actors of his generation, Michael Pennington, is to play Prospero for the first time in Jermyn Street Theatre's staging of Shakespeare's final work The Tempest.

Matt Lucas stepped in to play the role of Thénardier for a few weeks when Gerard Carey was unable to perform before the first preview of the new production of Les Misérables at the Sondheim Theatre last month due to vocal injury caused by contracting pneumonia. Last week Lucas regrettably sustained a back injury which has meant he is unable to continue in the role.

Artistic Director Lisa Spirling today announces an entire year of programming for 2020 at the home of new writers, including the news that all four remaining finalists of the 2018 Theatre503 International Playwriting Award will be staged at the venue by November 2020. This follows on from the success of Award winner Out of Sorts by Danusia Samal premiering in October 2019. In February, the search for the best debut and emerging writers in the world will begin again as the 2020 Theatre503 International Playwriting Award opens for submissions.

With Anupama Chandrasekhar's When the Crows Visit playing its final week and Mike Bartlett's Snowflake in rehearsals, Artistic Director of Kiln Theatre, Indhu Rubasingham, today announces the full cast for her production of the UK première of Antoinette Nwandu's Pass Over. Joining the previously announced Paapa Essiedu (Moses), are Alexander Eliot (Mister/Ossifer) and Gershwyn Eustache Jnr (Kitch). The production opens on 19 February 2020, with previews from 13 February, and runs until 21 March.

With her production of the world première of Anupama Chandrasekhar's When the Crows Visit in rehearsals, Artistic Director Indhu Rubasingham today announces Pass Over, A Museum in Baghdad and The Glee Club which will be staged at Kiln Theatre in 2020, following the previously announced Snowflake by Mike Bartlett.

This autumn, the acclaimed Jermyn Street Theatre and the award-winning Guildford Shakespeare Company join forces to present Shakespeare's rarely performed bittersweet comedy All's Well That Ends Well. This will be Guildford Shakespeare Company's first London transfer.

Lincoln Center Theater, under the direction of André Bishop, has announced it will produce a new musical during its 2019-2020 season. FLYING OVER SUNSET, with a book and direction by James Lapine, music by Tom Kitt, and lyrics by Michael Korie, will feature choreography by Michelle Dorrance, and will begin previews March 12, 2020 and open on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street). Carmen Cusack, Harry Hadden-Paton and Tony Yazbeck will head the cast with additional casting to be announced at a later date.

The production opens on 29 October, with previews from 23 October, and runs until 30 November.

The Lyric Hammersmith Theatre today announces the cast for A Doll's House, the first production directed by Rachel O'Riordan in her inaugural season as Artistic Director. Written by Henrik Ibsen and adapted by the award winning Tanika Gupta, this new take on an old classic explores gender politics, ownership and race in 1879, Calcutta.
