Friday 5(+1): The Cast of Circle Players' HAIR

Circle Players continues to celebrate of its 2018-19 season with tonight's opening of Hair, the 1969 tribal love-rock musical that made musical theater history with its premiere 50 years ago. Directed by Jason Lewis and choreographed by Tosha Pendergrast, the eagerly anticipated production features a cast of Nashville's favorite actors, with Nicholas Page as Claude.

American Premiere Of Tom Wells' BROKEN BISCUITS Comes to 1812 Productions

1812 Productions will present the American premiere of Tom Wells' comedy Broken Biscuits. Named for the boxes of broken cookies in every cupboard in England, Broken Biscuits premiered in Newcastle upon Tyne before touring the UK in 2016. Broken Biscuits stars a trio of young artists making their 1812 debuts, Amanda Jill Robinson, Leigha Kato, and Michael Macri. Broken Biscuits will play October 4th thru the 28th at Plays & Players Theatre, 1714 Delancey Street in Center City. Opening night will be Wednesday, October 10th at 7:00pm.

BWW Review: LES MISERABLES at the Hobby Center for Performing Arts is a Dream (I Dreamed)

Yuka Kawazu's Danse En L'Air Comes to Ballet Arts at New York City Center

Yuka Kawazu's Danse En L'Air bring Love & Memory, an evening of original dance works inspired by the paintings of Meeke Mutter, to Ballet Arts at New York City Center (130 W 56 Street, Floor 6) on October 14, at 7:30pm. The program offers a mix of solos, duets, and ensemble pieces choreographed by Kawazu and enhanced by digital projections of the artwork that prompted them. Poster and postcard prints of Mutter's creations will be available for purchase before and after the show.

BWW Review: AND THE WORLD GOES 'ROUND Slays at Stage West

Taken from the Liza Minelli song in the 1977 movie musical 'New York, New York', this two hour revue covers songs from twelve musical productions, woven together - with no plot - to feature a cast of five artists playing all the characters. From roller skating in 'The Rink', to luring the audience in 'Kiss of the Spiderwoman', and dancing around to 'Liza With a 'Z', this show is a non-stop ride for the performers and an evening full of entertainment for the audience.

Friday 5(+1): The Cast of HAIRSPRAY At The Roxy Regional Theatre

Clarksville's Roxy Regional Theatre transports audiences back to Baltimore - the capital of big hair and the city of big dreams - in 1962 with their production of Hairspray, now onstage through September 29. This weekend (which features the company's annual fundraising gala on Saturday night) kicks off the second weekend of the show's multi-week run in Historic Downtown Clarksville.

Friday 5(+1) for Thursday: The Cast of CFTA's HEATHERS, THE MUSICAL

Heathers The Musical, based on the classic 1980s cult film of the same name, concludes its run at Murfreesboro's Center for the Arts this weekend. Directed by Rachel Jones, the show - which has played to sell-out audiences during its first two weekends, features a cast of talented actors who are having the time of their young lives while bringing the story to life onstage.
