The national tour of What the Constitution Means To Me, Heidi Schreck's Tony Award-nominated Pulitzer Prize finalist play, directed by Oliver Butler, relaunched this fall at the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis, MN on September 30, 2021, starring Cassie Beck in the leading role.

The Lyric Stage Company of Boston presents the World Premiere production of Mr. Parent by Melinda Lopez with Maurice Emmanuel Parent and co-conceived and directed by Megan Sandberg-Zakian°. Today, Pasadena Playhouse has announced a season of four Los Angeles Premieres - Mike Lew’s Teenage Dick, a modern take on Shakespeare’s Richard III, directed by Tony Award nominee Moritz von Stuelpnagel; direct from Broadway, Special Tony Award recipient freestyle love supreme, plus more.

Over the next five weeks alone, between now and Labor Day weekend, The Art House and Town Hall in Provincetown will host a “who’s who” constellation of Broadway award-winners and music & comedy all-stars with no less than sixteen individual shows opening across the two venues’ three stages.

The Dramatists Guild of America has announced they will present the 2021 Horton Foote Playwriting Award to five amazing playwrights – Carla Ching, Kia Corthron, Aleshea Harris, Donja R. Love, and Mfoniso Udofia - at the Dramatists Guild’s awards presentations later this summer.

Kenny Leon’s True Colors Theatre Company announced winners of its 14th Annual August Wilson Monologue Competition National Finals,  held virtually on Monday, May 3, 2021 at 7pm ET. The first place winner was Taloria Merricks from Atlanta; second place, Taylor Jackson from Atlanta; and third place, Tyla Uzo from Los Angeles.

Tony, Grammy, and Emmy Award winner and Huntington Trustee Billy Porter will serve as host of at the Huntington’s virtual Spotlight Gala on May 10, 2021 and Huntington Trustee J. David (“Dave”) Wimberly will receive the first ever Encore Award for Lifetime Service. 

The Drama League has just announced the 2021 Nominees and Special Recognition Honorees for The 87th Annual Drama League Awards. Keeping in the tradition of honoring the outstanding accomplishments of the theatrical community, as they have since 1935, this year the organization has established five unique categories to honor the extraordinary achievements of artists across the nation who created digital and socially-distanced theatrical productions during this challenging year of suspension for live arts.

Huntington Theatre Company today announced the start of major construction of The Huntington Theatre, its historic home on Huntington Avenue, beginning an 18-month construction period that will restore, renovate, and modernize the 95-year-old Boston landmark.
