Gold Dime Announce Spring Tour Dates and SXSW Shows
by Kaitlin Milligan - Feb 27, 2020

Gold Dime's new album My House is out now via Fire Talk Records (order). About the album Brooklyn Vegan says, 'The record covers a lot of ground, with rippers in the long-running tradition of NYC noise rock, discordant slow-burners, avant-garde pieces, and more. There's some real out-there stuff, and there's also some very catchy stuff. From her clattering drums to her soaring, piercing voice, Andrya is the star of the show, but her collaborators are no slouches and Gold Dime really come off like a tight power trio on this album. And John Bohannon's guitar soundscapes, which totally defy the typical limitations of a guitar, are no small part of what makes this album great.'

Gold Dime to Release My House via Fire Talk Records
by Abigail Charpentier - Aug 22, 2019

On October 11, Gold Dime will release My House via Fire Talk Records. Today the band shared the official video for 'Hindsight II' the first single to be lifted from the forthcoming release. The video which was directed by Joe Wakeman premiered at Brooklyn Vegan and can also be shared at YouTube. The video was shot at the legendary performance art space The Kitchen in New York City, where Ambro, Wakeman and bandmate Ian Douglas-Moore all sometimes work. About the video Gold Dime's Andrya Ambro says, 'Sometimes we better understand the past if we just talk to it. So this is just the rhetorical me talking to the past through Hindsight personified. Also I think I had The Velvet Underground's 'Hey Mr. Rain' rattling around in my head when this all went down. There is a 'Hindsight' first edition on Gold Dime's debut album Nerves. It's basically the haiku version of 'Hindsight II,' only on piano and much more austere.' 'Hindsight II' is also available today on all digital streaming services to add to your favorite end of summer playlists.

Legendary CAN Vocalist Damo Suzuki Joins German Rockers JELLY PLANET On New Album
by Macon Prickett - Feb 5, 2018

Damo Suzuki, former lead vocalist for the massively influential krautrock band Can, has famously retired from studio recording. However, he continues to perform live concerts made up solely of compositions improvised entirely on the spot. These bold and fearless performances have enthralled audiences around the globe and brought new found attention to Suzuki's incredible talent. Purple Pyramid Records is proud to present a new chapter in Suzuki's ongoing musical explorations, a stunning collaboration with a German quartet of Can neophytes, going by the very Can-esque name of Jelly Planet. After performing live with Damo, the band was able to coax the singer into their studio for a fully improvised full length recording. Unlike previous Suzuki recordings, the studio setting gave the performers full control over every aspect of the recording ensuring that every nuance, inflection, and dynamic could be heard. The result is an album of incredible sonic quality and an authentically mind-blowing exploration into the outer edges of space rock! The self-titled album, Damo Suzuki & Jelly Planet, will be available on CD, vinyl (as a double LP set) and in digital formats starting February 2.
