The 19th season of Lincoln Center's acclaimed American Songbook series opens this January, presenting the voices and stories of singers, songwriters, and musicians across a range of genres. From musical theater to Americana to R&B and gospel, these performers will chronicle personal journeys, pay tribute to legendary artists, and showcase the breadth of creativity, emotion, and expression found throughout American song.

Klea Blackhurst the host of the concluding night of The 28th New York Cabaret Convention likes to remind folks that all roads lead to Ethel Merman . Last night's talent filled finale offered up some of the best vocalists in cabaret and all roads started and ended with Klea & Billy Stritch recreating some of their classic interpretations of the music of Hoagy Carmichael & Richard Whiting.

The Mabel Mercer Foundation has announced that it will implement a special 'Rush' ticket policy for their 2017 Cabaret Convention, to be held at Frederick P. Rose Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, from Monday through Thursday, October 16th - 19th.

The Schimmel Center presents American Dance Spectacular! on Saturday, October 21 at 7:30 p.m., exploring the history of American popular dance throughout the 20th century, including the Charleston, Lindy hop, jitterbug, twist, voguing, and more. The performance is directed, co-written and created by Daniel C. Levine (Broadway's Les Mis rables, Chicago, and Mamma Mia!) with choreography by Al Blackstone (Fox's So You Think You Can Dance), music direction by Bryan Perri (Broadway's Wicked and Next to Normal), and book by Susan Batten (Lifetime's Showing Roots) together with six Broadway dancers backed by three vocalists and a live band.

Woody Allen's stage musical based on his Academy Award-winning film - a hilarious and high stepping homage to both the gangster films and movie musicals of the 1930's - will be staged for the first time by a Chicago company when NightBlue Performing Arts opens its production of the musical on Monday, September 11, following previews from Friday, September 8 through Sunday, September 10.  Press opening is Monday, September 11 at 7:30 pm. BULLETS OVER BROADWAY will run through Sunday, October 8 at Stage 773, 1225 W.
