Previews: BYE BYE BIRDIE at Palm Canyon Theatre

Set in the 1950s, this story is reminiscent of the King of Rock. A songwriter finds himself in trouble when the rock and roll teen heartthrob he writes for, Conrad Birdie, is drafted into the Army. As a publicity stunt to record and sell one more hit record before he is sent overseas, a televised farewell is planned with Birdie set to kiss a preselected All-American girl.

Myles Smith to Play Tour Following His First UK Top Ten Single

Songwriting sensation Myles Smith is set for his biggest solo tour yet after releasing the top ten single in the UK, ‘Stargazing’. Taking the ‘We Were Never Strangers’ tour across the UK and Europe for the very first time, the star kicks off 2025 in Leeds and finishes off in Switzerland’s creative capital on March 24th.

A BEAUTIFUL NOISE Comes to the Bushnell This October

 The Bushnell has announced that individual tickets for the smash-hit musical, A BEAUTIFUL NOISE: THE NEIL DIAMOND MUSICAL, will go on sale starting June 21. A BEAUTIFUL NOISE makes its Hartford, Conn. premiere at The Bushnell October 1 - 6, 2024. 

3 Broadway Shows Close Today

Today, June 23, 2024, Broadway says goodbye to two limited-run productions and one open-run production. An Enemy of the People takes its final bow at the Circle in the Square Theatre following 23 previews and 112 regular performances; Patriots will conclude its run at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre following 21 previews and 72 regular performances; and The Heart of Rock and Roll concludes at the James Earl Jones Theatre following 24 previews and 72 regular performances.

Review: TOPDOG/UNDERDOG Rises to the Top at Celebration Arts

Celebration Arts’ season of Black Girl Magic continues with its production of TOPDOG/UNDERDOG. Playwright Suzan-Lori Parks became the first Black woman to win a Pulitzer Prize for Drama for this work in 2002. In 2023 it won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play.

JD Souther to Reissue 'You're Only Lonely' on LP and Expanded CD/Digital

Songwriters Hall Of Fame inductee JD Souther has announced a reissue of his classic third album, You’re Only Lonely, out July 26. The 9-track LP returns for the first time in 35 years, and the CD and Digital add two previously unissued bonus tracks from the album’s sessions.

Kurt Deimer to Tour With Yngwie Malmsteen This Fall

Kurt Deimer has revealed that he will be touring alongside Yngwie Malmsteen this fall. Kurt will join the tour on September 27th in Clearwater, Florida. The tour will conclude on November 18th in New York City, NY.

Austin Snell to Embark on Headlining 'Still Bleeding' Tour

The 11-date headlining trek, named for Snell’s debut album, will kick off on October 24, 2024, in Kansas City, MO, including stops in Boston, New York, Toronto and more. Snell is also set to release the highly anticipated, full-length debut Still Bleeding on June 28.
