What did our critic think of CLYDE'S at Omaha Community Playhouse? Omaha Community Playhouse has cooked up another hit with their first show of the 99th season, Clyde’s. A continuation of two-time Pulitzer winner Lynn Nottage’s script Sweat, which ran on the very same stage in the fall of 2019, Clyde’s tells the story of four previously incarcerated individuals who found themselves working together at Clyde’s, a truck stop diner, through the help of a transition program.

After seeing Police Cops: Badass Be Thy Name and loving the group’s sense of humour and fantastic dynamic, I knew that I wanted to see their 2023 Edinburgh Fringe Festival show, Police Cops: The Musical. Somehow, this show managed to exceed my already high expectations, making for a perfect last show at the Fringe.

William Shakespeare wrote As You Like it in 1599. Themes include class distinctions, family rivalries, love, forgiveness, envy, and gender. Much of it takes place in a place called the Forest of Arden. The show’s director Michael Hernandez-Phillips, adapted the play, moved the forest to Central Park in the 1950s.
