Kimberly Faith Hickman to Leave Her Role as Artistic Director at OCP

After serving as artistic director for four-and-a-half years, Kimberly Faith Hickman has announced she is leaving her role at the Omaha Community Playhouse (OCP) at the end of 2020. Hickman plans to return to OCP in spring of 2021 as a guest director for the highly anticipated production of Willy Wonka and to teach for OCPa??s Henry Fonda Theatre Academy.

Al Hirschfeld Foundation Launches Online Exhibition, SOCIALLY DISTANT THEATER: The Solo Show As Seen By Hirschfeld

The Al Hirschfeld Foundation has announced the first in a series of online exhibitions exploring the work of one of the most iconic artists of the last century. On May 11, the Foundation will open a special exhibition for these times: 'SOCIALLY DISTANT THEATER: The Solo Show As Seen By Hirschfeld', a collection of 25 drawings, paintings, collages, and prints documenting a half century of one person shows.

The family at the epicenter of John Steinbeck's groundbreaking novel The Grapes of Wrath forever captured the nation's heart in 1940 with a celebrated film version starring Henry Fonda. Now, Arena Stage is continuing the Joad family story with Mother Road, a play in which actor Tony Sancho finds himself carrying on the legacy of these beloved characters whose story has suddenly found renewed relevance eight decades later.

By 1939. the Depression had begun to wane, but Dorothy still took a road trip to Oz to find out that there's no place like home. John Steinbeck published The Grapes of Wrath that year; the Joad family also had to leave their Oklahoma home and hit the road because the Dust Bowl was no Miss Gulch nor a dream they'd wake up from. Steinbeck called the road they took, Route 66, the Mother Road which has given Octavio Solis his title for Arena's current production through March 8.

Mercer County Community College's Kelsey Theatre to Present 12 ANGRY MEN

The life of a young man hangs in the balance and rests in the hands of 12 jurors in a seemingly open-and-shut case. However, can they set aside personal prejudices and preconceptions in the name of justice? That is the question for '12 Angry Men,' presented by Forté Dramatic Productions Jan. 17-26 at Mercer County Community College's (MCCC) Kelsey Theatre.

Playhouse on the Square Revives ON GOLDEN POND
