The Clubbed Thumb, True Love, and New York Theatre Workshop production of What the Constitution Means to Me will come to Broadway this spring for a 12-week limited engagement, beginning performances at the Helen Hayes Theater (240 W 44th Street, New York, NY) on March 14, 2019, with opening night scheduled for March 31. Heidi Schreck's timely and galvanizing play, directed by Oliver Butler, became a sensation off-Broadway this fall, where it extended twice at NYTW before transferring to the Greenwich House Theater. What the Constitution Means to Me will be produced on Broadway by Diana DiMenna, Aaron Glick, and Matt Ross.

Prologue Theatre Announces Inaugural Season

Arlington's newest professional theatre company, Prologue Theatre, is launching its inaugural season in January 2019 with Heidi Schreck's Grand Concourse. This intimate four-character play challenges audiences to consider a variety of perspectives as the lives of Shelley, Emma, Oscar, and Frog intersect at a Bronx soup kitchen. The production will be performed at the Key Bridge Marriott, 1401 Lee Hwy, Arlington, VA 22209, from January 24 to February 17, 2019. Performances will begin at 8 pm on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays and at 2 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

The World Premiere Of SLAVE PLAY Extends Run At New York Theatre Workshop

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) (Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director Jeremy Blocker) announced today that due to high demand, the world premiere of Slave Play by Jeremy O. Harris (Daddy, Zola), directed by two-time Obie Award winner Robert O'Hara (Bootycandy), will run for an additional two weeks. Originally scheduled to play its final performance on December 30, 2018, Slave Play will now play additional performances through Sunday January 13, 2019. Slave Play began previews on Monday, November 19, 2018 and will open Sunday, December 9 at New York Theatre Workshop (79 E. 4th Street New York, NY 10003).
