Serenbe Playhouse, recipient of the prestigious American Theatre Wing grant, and recently honored with the most Suzi Bass Awards for a musical in Atlanta (Miss Saigon), is pleased to present CABARET, by Joe Masteroff and John Kander and Fred Ebb. Directed by Brian Clowdus, the show opens on August 3rd and runs to August 27th. CABARET will be produced at The Open Air Room in Serenbe. "Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek." The fairy tales we all know and love get reinvented as this lovable ogre, sassy donkey, and spunky princess take the scene in The Atlanta Lyric Theatre's Shrek the Musical. The Tony-nominated book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire and music by Jeanine Tesori have transferred the Dreamworks film to the stage in a way that will delight fans of the movie as well as please the musical theatre crowd. Filled with bright sets and costumes, catchy tunes, and a lovable cast of miscasts, be sure to catch it before it closes September 4th!

Atlanta Lyric Theatre explores that question with one of the most powerful and tragic love stories in American theatre, West Side Story. The show is filled with electrifying dance numbers based on Jerome Robbins' original ground-breaking choreography. The score, written by Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim and Arthur Laurents, features some of the most exuberant and romantic songs ever written, including "Somewhere (There's A Place For Us)," "Maria," "Tonight," "I Feel Pretty," and "America." West Side Story will run from June 10-26 at the Jennie T. This evening, Suzi Bass Awards, Inc. revealed nominations for the 2014-2015 Atlanta professional theatrical season. The Suzi Nomination Party, which rotates venues, was hosted this year by Horizon Theatre. Guest announcers included the ladies of The Weird Sisters Theatre Project: Kelly Criss, Veronika Duerr, Jaclyn Hofmann, Tiffany Porter, and Megan Rose.
