Photo Flash: The Carnival Comes to Town! Meet the Cast of CAROUSEL at Serenbe Playhouse

By:

In a more innocent time, Americans sought entertainment in the form of carnivals and fairs, where delights of all kinds were just a ticket away. This spring, we invite you to step right up and experience CAROUSEL, the second installment within the Rodgers & Hammerstein canon featuring the reunited all-star cast of Serenbe Playhouse's beloved 2014 production of OKLAHOMA! Scroll down for a sneak peek at the company in costume!

The principles of this adored cast return to tell the tale of Billy Bigelow, his lovely Julie Jordan and their daughter, Louise, in a rendition that highlights the dark undertones of a cruel world juxtaposed with the enduring power of love. Along with the reimagined telling, you'll find the rolling hills of Serenbe transformed into a turn of the century carnival (from BigRoundWheel brought to you by HUX), complete with cotton candy, games galore, wonders on display and, of course, a carousel. Come and take a whirl!

CAROUSEL reunites many OKLAHOMA! cast members including Kelly Martin as Julie Jordan, Edward McCreary as Billy Bigelow, Jessica Miesel as Carrie, Austin Tijerina as Jigger, Lala Cochran as Mrs. Mullins and Starkeeper, Ally Duncan as Nettie, Brittany Ellis as Louise, and Nathan Lubeck as Carnival Boy. Other key players are Daniel Burns as Mr. Snow, Matt Lewis as Mr. Bascombe, and Brian Jordan as Enoch Snow Jr. The ensemble will feature Jaclyn Helms, Shelby Folks, Shannon McCarren, Hayley Platt, Lilliangina Quinones, and Terrence Smith.

The production team, lead by Clowdus, has music direction from Chris Brent Davis, choreography from Bubba Carr, fight choreography from Christen Orr, and assistant direction from Ryan Oliveti. The design team includes scenic design from Adam Koch, costume design from Abby Parker, lighting design from Brian Frey, sound design from Adam Howarth, and properties design from Rachel Hamilton.
