DEADPOOL/MAD MAX Composer Junkie XL Moves to ASCAP

ASCAP, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, the world leader in performing rights and advocacy for music creators, today announced that Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum producer and composer Tom Holkenborg, professionally known as Junkie XL, has switched to ASCAP for representation of public performances of his extensive music repertoire. Among other projects, the composer has scored box office-topping films includingDeadpool, Mad Max: Fury Road, Black Mass and Divergent.

West End's ALADDIN And THE LION KING Announce Summer Pop-up Experience

Disney's hit West End musicals Aladdin and The Lion King have today announced that a summer Pop-Up will open its doors to Disney fans old and new in Covent Garden throughout August. Located at 25 Long Acre in the heart of Theatreland, the Pop-Up will be open every day from Tuesday 31st July until Sunday 26th August with a host of free interactive experiences and special events to enjoy.

Presented by Dallas Summer Musicals and Broadway Across America, The Lion King played The Music Hall at Fair Park for 32 performances from Wednesday, June 13 through Saturday, July 7.

If the North American tours were a Broadway production, they would be the fourth longest running show in history.

John Powell, a prolific composer who has scored more than 60 films - including the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story - was awarded the ASCAP Henry Mancini Award for his outstanding achievements and contributions to the world of film and television music.

Lakeside Pavilion Free Outdoor Summer Series Of Films And Concerts Includes Three New Components

McAninch Arts Center, located at 425 Fawell Blvd. on the campus of College of DuPage (COD), presents the 2018 Lakeside Pavilion Free Outdoor Summer Series. Programming runs July 12-Aug.10 and includes a Thursday evening Family Movie Series, the Thursday evening WDCB Live Jazz Concert Series and a Friday evening Pop Music Series. One of the highlights of the Friday evening series promises to be the July 20 New Philharmonic pops concert, which will be broadcast on Facebook Live for the second year in a row. New for this season: To help insure everyone's safety in light of the growing popularity of the series, seating for films and evening concerts will begin at 6 p.m. No admittance will be allowed prior to 6 p.m. for sound check and security reasons.  Admission to Lakeside Pavilion Summer Series events and parking is always free.

Utah Symphony Presents Summer Community Concert Series

The Utah Symphony today announced the lineup for the 2018 summer community concert series in Salt Lake City and surrounding areas, several of which feature outdoor venues. The schedule includes Gina Bachauer Piano Competition Finals on June 22 and 23 at 7 PM at Abravanel Hall, Gallivan Center on Monday June 25, Disney in Concert: "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" on June 27 and 28 at Abravanel Hall, the Utah Symphony at Snowbasin Resort on June 29 and August 7, the Utah Symphony at Thanksgiving Point on July 2, the Utah Symphony at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center on July 3, and Jenny Oaks Baker with the Utah Symphony on August 1 at Red Butte Garden Amphitheatre. Ticketing information is posted with each concert. No tickets are required for the Gallivan Center and Utah Cultural Celebration Center performances, which are free to the public. Tickets for the other performances are on sale now with ticketing information available at www.utahsymphony.org.
