The D23 expo featured many quietly screened previews, one of which being a peek at The Circle of Life scene of the upcoming The Lion King remake. According to Mashable, the film is moving along the lines of the recent The Jungle Book remake which featured extremely realistic CGI.

???????Students in Perseverance theatre's STAR program open performances Disney's The Lion King Jr, Hamlet, and an original piece written by the students: North Star Vaud on July 21. STAR is a youth acting program that provides theatrical training and performance opportunities to students who are excited about theatre. In addition to rehearsals, students participate in daily workshops on voice, movement and acting technique, culminating in three fully produced productions.

Disney's THE LION KING Tour Breaks Box Office Records in Greenville

Disney's The Lion King once again set the record for the highest-grossing engagement in Greenville theatrical history with a gross of $5.6 million. The award-winning musical entertained nearly 64,000 theatergoers during the four-week engagement at the Peace Center which concluded on June 25. The North American tour broke its own record set in 2012 when the production grossed over $5.1 million during their previous four week engagement.
