Trustus Theatre opens up their 34th Season on their Main Stage with Silence! The Musical, an unofficial musical parody based on Silence of the Lambs, just in time for Halloween. Silence! The Musical, winner of coveted industry awards such as the New York International Fringe Festival Outstanding Musical Award, will run from Friday, October 5 through Saturday, November 3, 2018.

This October, SYFY is the destination for non-stop horror as the network celebrates its 10th annual 31 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN programming event. The chilling lineup airs all day and night throughout the month, and includes the premieres of five terrifying original movies, a new installment of the acclaimed anthology series CHANNEL ZERO, spooky new seasons of SYFY series VAN HELSING and Z NATION, a variety of cult horror flicks, and deep dives into all things horror on genre news destination SYFY WIRE. The 15th Annual New York Comedy Festival (NYCF), in partnership with TBS, today announces its line-up of comedians for the highly anticipated week-long laugh fest that takes place November 5th through November 11th.  Expanding to seven days this year, the NYCF will present more than 200 comedians in more than 100 shows at some of New York City's most prestigious venues.

Bear Grylls Tapped as Host for National Geographic's HOSTILE PLANET

Ovation, America's only arts network, has announced the premiere date for the third and final season of X Company. Inspired by the true story of Camp X, a top-secret Allied spy training facility in Lake Ontario, the series stars Evelyne Brochu (Orphan Black), Jack Laskey (Endeavour), Hugh Dillon (Flashpoint, Continuum), Warren Brown (Luther, Strike Back), Connor Price (Being Human), Torben Liebrecht (Homeland) and Lara Jean Chorostecki (Designated Survivor, Hannibal). Season Three of X Company will debut on Monday, August 20th at 10pm ET / 7pm PT on Ovation.

Fan favorites Shamon Brown Jr. (Papa), Barton Fitzpatrick (Reg) and Michael Epps (Jake) have been upped from guest stars to series regulars for the highly anticipated second season of THE CHI. The hit SHOWTIME drama series is currently in production in Chicago and will return to the network in 2019. THE CHIaveraged 4.5 million weekly viewers across platforms and ranks as the highest-rated SHOWTIME freshman season since BILLIONS in 2016.

Featuring an eclectic mix of sexy, DARK & DIRTY show tunes and comedy songs, Bucket List Cabaret, the brain-child of Theatre 40 member Amanda Conlon and her husband Peter Flanigan, invaded Three Clubs on July 19, 2018 with an explosively entertaining evening of musical fun that kept its audience laughing from start to finish. I am not exactly sure how Ms. Conlon found (or perhaps created) such an amazing mix of naughty tunes, I can say each one kept me laughing at the unexpected language and subject matter throughout the entire show.

On Friday, July 6, THE CHI creator and executive producer Lena Waithe will headline a keynote conversation on the ESSENCE Empowerment Experience Stage and will later appear in the Great Hall to discuss THE CHI. All 500 fans who attend Waithe's Q&A at the Great Hall will receive $25 gift certificates to the SHOWTIME streaming service. On Saturday, July 7, BLACK MONDAY star Regina Hall returns to the Festival after the success of Girls Trip to debut the first footage from the highly anticipated new SHOWTIME comedy series exclusively for Essence Festival attendees, followed by a moderated Q&A. At the BLACK MONDAY conversation, SHOWTIME will give out 40 tickets to select fans for a meet and greet with Hall at the Fan Zone immediately following her Q&A.
