THIS ONE'S FOR THE GIRLS is set to celebrate Fleet Week 2018 with a special medley from the musical smash this Sunday, May 27th at noon on the Intrepid. Admission is free. Due to overwhelming demand, the Off-Broadway hit recently put a new block of seats on sale through September 5th. Initially set to run to the end of 2017, this marks the second extension for Dorothy Marcic's THIS ONE'S FOR THE GIRLS, which opened October 27th to unanimous rave reviews.

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street will play its final performance on August 26, 2018 after a successful run at New York's Barrow Street Theatre (27 Barrow Street).

The Broadway at Birdland concert series was proud to present multi-Grammy and Tony nominated composer Frank Wildhorn in another 'Frank Wildhorn & Friends' on Monday, April 16.  

The composer who had three shows running simultaneously on Broadway was on stage at The Broadway at Birdland concert series last night and of course Broadwayworld was also there for the special evening.

The cast of Off-Broadway's musical smash THIS ONE'S FOR THE GIRLS is set to perform at the Upper West Side Barnes & Noble tomorrow (Thursday) at 7 PM to launch the newest book by the show's author, Dorothy Marcic. THIS ONE'S FOR THE GIRLS opened on October 27th at St. Luke's Theatre to unanimous rave reviews and was recently extended due to popular demand.

The longest-running African American musical in New York history, SISTAS: THE MUSICAL, will be the main segment on WNBC's "New York Live" tomorrow(Tuesday) at 11:30 am. The co-host of Channel 4's highly popular lifestyle show, Jacque Reid, pretaped an interview at the theatre with two of the stars of SISTAS,Haley Swindal and Nesha Ward. Produced by three-time Tony winner Hinton Battle and directed by Kenneth Ferrone ("Smash," "Grease Live!"), SISTAS: THE MUSICAL opened Off-Broadway October 23, 2011. The show was released on DVD and digital download (iTunes, Netflix) by RLJ Worldwide/One Village Entertainment in 2013, and has been nationally broadcast on the BET Network.

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director/CEO) has just announced that former New York Yankee right fielder & Mr. October Reggie Jackson has joined the Damn Yankees Benefit Concert Reading. The MLB superstar will play the role of Mr. Welch.

Friars have socialized and been entertained by every major Broadway and Great American Songbook composer starting with Friar George M. Cohan, who in addition to writing over 50 Broadway shows and 300 songs happened to pen Over There at a table during lunch at the Friars Club.
