Two words immediately came to mind as I witnessed the magnificence of this production - natural and effortless. Vintage Theatre revives their award winning rendition of Tennessee Williams' A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE playing now through September 7th. Set against the steamy backdrop of New Orleans' gritty French Quarter, Tennessee Williams' 1947 Pulitzer Prize-winning drama tells the story of Blanche Dubois, a faded Southern belle driven to madness by her animalistic brother-in-law, Stanley Kowalski. Taking refuge from her crumbling past, the fragile yet determined Blanche arrives unexpectedly at her married sister Stella's doorstep, hoping for a better life and restoration of her senses.

The ensemble as a whole was solid and worked so well together as a cohesive unit on this disturbing drama.

The Bug Theatre will present A Lie of the Mind. Performances will be May 2 through May 31 on Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 PM. There will also be two Sunday performances on May 18 and 25 at 6:30 PM and one pay-what-you-can industry night on Monday, May 19. I must say that each character had wonderful developmental arch that featured the talents of each actors.
