Carnegie Hall and medici.tv announced today the launch of a new weekly streaming project: Carnegie Hall Fridays, through which a selection of 11 webcasts of past performances from the Hall will be made available for free to audiences worldwide.

Los Angeles Phlharmonic Is AT HOME WITH ESA-PEKKA

In a continuation of efforts to bring music to Los Angeles, the state of California and beyond, the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association, Classical KUSC (Los Angeles), and Classical KDFC (San Francisco) partner with some of the LA Phil's closest friends and collaborators to present the At Home Witha?? series. This special remote series evolved from At Home With Gustavo (featuring Music & Artistic Director Gustavo Dudamel), which launched in March in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the temporary closures of cultural venues across the world. The next installment, At Home With Esa-Pekka, begins Tuesday, April 28, at 6PM PDT. The series will continue with different artists weekly.

The Chamber Music Society of Detroit Will Present Vera Quartet with pianist Meng-Chieh Liu

The Chamber Music Society of Detroit will present the multi award-winning young Vera Quartet with pianist Meng-Chieh Liu in three Detroit area concerts: 7:30 PM Friday, March 13 at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial, Saturday, March 14 at Canton's Village Theater at Cherry Hills, and 3 PM Sunday, March 15 at Oakland University's Varner Recital Hall in Rochester Hills. The program includes one of Beethoven's early string quartets, the Quartet in C minor, Op. 18, No. 4; String Quartet No. 4 ('Silent Temple') by University of Michigan composer Bright Sheng; and Franck's Piano Quintet in F minor.

The Metropolitan Opera Has Announced its 2020–21 Season

Today, the Metropolitan Opera announced its 2020-21 season, the first in which Yannick Nézet-Séguin assumes his full breadth of musical duties as the company's Jeanette Lerman-Neubauer Music Director, conducting six productions.
