Tap Star Andrew Nemr and Friends Set for The Cutting Room, 4/18

Andrew Nemr, protege of Gregory Hines and a leader in the tap dance world brings his one man show to the Cutting Room. Andrew has worked with such luminaries as Les Paul, Savion Glover, and may be found on David Eggar's Grammy Nominated recording 'Itsbynne Reel' (Best Instrumental Arrangement). In Andrew J Nemr and Friends, Andrew tells stories of love and life through dance and music as he shares the stage with some of his incredibly talented friends that he's met along the way.

Frederick Douglass is recognized as one of the greatest American anti-slavery leaders of the 1800s. Eloquent, smart and determined, Douglass gained fame as a speaker, began his own anti-slavery publications, and became a 'conductor' on the Underground Railroad. Douglass was born into slavery in Maryland in 1838, The exact date of Douglass' birth is unknown. He chose to celebrate it on February 14. Join African Burial Ground National Monument for our first-ever celebration of the life of Frederick Douglass today, February 14, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

MASTER CHOREOGRAPHERS Dance Concert Plays Muhlenberg College, Now thru 2/9

Muhlenberg College will showcase world premiere dance works created by five of the region's most accomplished choreographers and two restagings by internationally acclaimed choreographers, in the College's annual 'Master Choreographers' dance concert, tonight, Feb. 7-9.

American Repertory Ballet and Princeton Ballet School Added to the Princeton Historical Society Collection

Audee Estey, a native of Winnipeg, Canada, began teaching in the Princeton area after marrying L. Wendell "Bud"Estey, a teacher at the Lawrenceville School, in 1933. Among her hundreds of students were Meredith Monk, Douglas Dunn, Bebe Neuwirth, Diane Partington, and Jennifer Dunning. She founded Princeton Ballet Society in 1954 (now Princeton Ballet School) and the Princeton Regional Ballet Company in 1963.

The Jones' 'Yearbook' Single Gets 1/20 Release

Singer/songwriter The Jones is proud to announce the release of his new heart-felt single 'YearBook,' a Pop/R&B single inspired by true events and dedicated to anti-bullying. The Jones composed 'YearBook' after watching a news story about a young girl who committed suicide after she was bullied by her school mates. He immediately wanted to do something to help anyone going through such a horrible thing. 'I don't think singing a song is going to take away the hurt but I want to help cheer someone up if I can'. Bullying is getting out of control on all levels these days. Cyber- bullying is also becoming a serious problem.

NYC Choreographer Shea Sullivan Choreographs Miss America 2013's Talent Routine

New York based Choreographer Shea Sullivan announced today that she choreographed the newly crowned Miss America's talent routine to James Brown's Get Up Off Of That Thing for competition. Mallory Hytes Hagan, Miss America 2013, became the second tap dancer to ever be crowned Miss America in the pageant's 92-year history.
