Esteemed singer-songwriter and musician Gordon Lightfoot returns to the Van Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall on Thursday, February 22 at 8PM. Lightfoot's stellar career includes twenty recorded albums, five Grammy nominations, induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and a vast song catalog including such classics as "Early Morning Rain," "If You Could Read My Mind," "Carefree Highway," "Rainy Day People" and "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald." Lightfoot released his first new music in 12 years when he delivered "Plans Of My Own" in November 2016.

Co-Artistic Directors David Hogan & David Rogers are thrilled to announce the 2017 Season. 'Celebrate With Us' encompasses a Canadian theme as the VPP honours our country in its 150th year. When asked about the line up for the upcoming season, Hogan said 'Happy Birthday Canada - this season is dedicated to you. We wanted to give back to our great nation that has made us feel glorious and free. Everything in this season is written, composed, compiled, choreographed, directed, performed and/or put together by Canadians. We are thrilled to celebrate Canada.' Director of Cultural Services for the Town of Petrolia, Richard Poore echoed Hogan's sentiments, saying, 'I am so pleased and proud to be part of the 2017 VPP Summer Season announcement. I know our audiences will continue to be thrilled by the VPP experience.'
