The Hylton Performing Arts Center continues its 2022-2023 season this January and February 2023 with exciting performances as part of Hylton Presents, Hylton Family Series, and American Roots Series, plus performances by Hylton Center Arts Partners, Mason Arts at the Hylton Center, and a lineup of workshops as part of the Veterans and the Arts Initiative.

Theater J will honor Evelyn Sandground and Bill Perkins at their annual benefit on Tuesday, November 15, at 8:00 PM in Washington, DC. Sandground and Perkins are longtime advocates of Theater J and the arts throughout the Washington area. Sandground has served for over a decade on the Theater J Council and previously served as a co-chair.

National Philharmonic (NatPhil) presents the 2022-2023 debut of the National Philharmonic Chorale in Louis-Hector Berlioz's Requiem. The program also celebrates conductor Stan Engebretson's storied tenure as Artistic Director of the Chorale. Berlioz Requiem is being presented for one night only at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 12 at Strathmore.

ArtsFairfax invites the community to celebrate Danielle Badra as the 2022-2024 Fairfax Poet Laureate. Representing Fairfax County and serving as a poetry ambassador, Ms. Badra accepts the County's esteemed honor and plans to extend her love of poetry through literary engagement activities in Fairfax County Parks.

This November and December 2022, the Center for the Arts at George Mason University continues in-person programming featuring an array of dance, theater, opera, and music from around the world through the 2022/2023 Great Performances at Mason series and Family Series as well as signature events from Mason's College of Visual and Performing Arts.

George Mason University's School of Theater has got the beat and are ready to rock audiences with their production of Head Over Heels, the laugh-out-loud love story of a royal family on a mission to save their kingdom, set to the music and lyrics of The Go-Go's.

The Mark Morris Dance Group (MMDG) will resume national touring for its 2022-2023 season, with ten confirmed nationwide stops from October 2021 to June 2022. The touring season centers on Mark Morris's BOLD new creation, The Look of Love.

George Mason University’s School of Theater announces fall 2022 dates for its Guest Artist Series: Creating Anti-Racist Theater with leading voices from the theatrical industry discussing the logistics of making and cultivating Anti-Racist Theater. This second year of the series will focus on theater makers who identify as LBGTQ+ and are leading practices around inclusion and anti-racism in theatrical spaces.

The Acting Company's Artistic Director Kent Gash and Managing Director Erik Schroeder have announced casting for the national tours of The Three Musketeers and Romeo and Juliet launching in New York City and playing over 27 engagements in 16 states.

Creative Cauldron announced the hiring of Lenny Mendez, in the position of Artistic Associate. Lenny Mendez (she/her/ella) is a Latina actress from the Washington DC  area. Lenny earned her BFA in Acting and Directing from George Mason University and trained  at Circle in the Square Theatre School on Broadway in New York City. Some past performance  credits include, Queen Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream (Castaway Repertory) Angelina in  Prom Night (GALA Hispanic Theatre) Natalie in The Proposal (Workhouse Arts Center). 

The Center for the Arts at George Mason University announced the legendary Preservation Hall Jazz Band will bring its Pass It On: 60th Anniversary Musical Celebration tour to Fairfax, VA on November 6 at 7 p.m., as part of the 2022/2023 Great Performances at Mason season.
