New York Magazine/Vulture Names Helen Shaw New Theatre Critic

New York Magazine editor-in-chief David Haskell announced today that Helen Shaw (@Helen_E_Shaw) is joining New York and its entertainment site Vulture as theater critic. An award-winning writer and critic, Shaw will write reviews and related cultural commentary. She begins her new role on October 15.

Sara Holdren Announced As Artistic Director Of Shakespeare Academy @ Stratford

Sara Holdren has been named as the Artistic Director of Shakespeare Academy @ Stratford. SA@S a six-week summer theater program that uniquely combines rigorous training, ensemble collaboration, and the opportunity to rehearse and perform two Shakespeare plays in repertory on the grounds of the iconic American Festival Shakespeare Theater in Stratford, Connecticut.

Jane Austen's PERSUASION at The Players

Sara Holdren will direct a staged reading of Jane Austen's Persuasion, adapted for the theatre by emerging playwright Sarah Rose Kearns, on Monday, April 9th at 7 o'clock at The Players in New York City, 16 Gramercy Park South. This performance will feature Jack Halpin, Marc LeVasseur, Patricia McNamara, Chris Mixon, Daniel Reece, Amanda Jill Robinson (also acting as music director), Maggie Wetzel, Esther Williamson, and Jenna Zhu.

Theatre for a New Audience (TFANA; Jeffrey Horowitz, Founding Artistic Director) announces the full cast and creative team for William Shakespeare's tragicomedy The Winter's Tale, directed by OBIE Award-winner Arin Arbus. The production plays March 13-April 15, 2018, at Polonsky Shakespeare Center (262 Ashland Place), TFANA's home in the Brooklyn Cultural District.

Two River Theater Presents A Little Shakespeare: THE COMEDY OF ERRORS

Two River Theater, under the leadership of Artistic Director John Dias and Managing Director Michael Hurst, continues its season of theater for all audiences with A Little Shakespeare: The Comedy of Errors, Shakespeare's high-energy comedy about two sets of identical twins, adapted and directed by Sara Holdren. The production will run March 6-11 on the stage of the Rechnitz Theater, featuring a cast of 14 students from 6 New Jersey high schools: Asbury Park HS, Christian Brothers Academy, Howell HS - FPAC, Neptune HS, Red Bank Regional HS - VPA, and Trinity Hall. A Little Shakespeare is supported by OceanFirst, The Jorgensen Foundation, and Monmouth University.

Harold Clurman's Life of Passion' in Delhi at the prestigious Kamani Auditorium on February 25th, and at the Kalagram Theatre in Bangalore, India on February 27th, 2018.
