Below, Demeter the Cat (Gayle Holsman Seay) from Andrew Lloyd Webber's CATS poses in front of her former longtime home, the Winter Garden Theatre, as it gets ready for Lloyd Webber's newest show, SCHOOL OF ROCK, to open this fall. Seay played the role of Demeter in the final Broadway cast of CATS, which occupied the Winter Garden for a record-breaking 18 years. SCHOOL OF ROCK begins previews there November 9, with an oepning night slated for December 6, 2015.
Seventeen different stage productions were honored at the third annual Kevin Kline Awards ceremony. Ten St. Louis area theater companies - double the number of last year's recipients - were recognized with awards. Four of those ten theaters were multiple award winners.
