It's time to head to the El Flamingo because Ben Fankhauser is taking over BroadwayWorld's Instagram Story tomorrow, May 26th, at Hartford Stage's production of The Flamingo Kid! Be sure to tune in all throughout the day to get a look behind the scenes of a two-show day of this brand new musical!

Just a warning to those who think that Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill is a musical revue of Billie Holiday's greatest hits. Lanie Robertson's work is a very heavy play with music featuring brilliant Deidrie Henry front and center baring her soul in one of Holiday's last performances in 1959 before her death. Incredible musicians Abdul Hamid Royal as musical director and as Jimmy Powers at the ivories and James Leary on bass add immense flavor to the evening, currently onstage under the outstanding direction of Gregg T. Daniel, at the Garry Marshall Theatre through June 2 only.

The director is Gregg T. Daniel and playing Jimmy Powers is musical director Abdul Hamid Royal.  Daniel most recently directed The Mountaintop for Garry Marshall Theatre.

Broadway's Los Angeles love story PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL will launch its North American Tour in Providence, Rhode Island in October 2020, at the Providence Performing Arts Center.

Hartford Stage will present The Flamingo Kid, which closes the 2018-19 season. Performances for The Flamingo Kid begin on Thursday, May 9, and run through Sunday, June 9.

Award-winning artists' collective Rogue Artists Ensemble is thrilled to announce the Inaugural Rogue Lab Readings Series, a four-day event that includes readings of seven new works written, directed, and designed by emerging LA artists, as well as post-show discussions and receptions. The reading series will feature new plays by 2018-2019 Rogue Lab playwrights Lisa Sanaye Dring, Eric Fagundes, John Guerra, Mildred Inez Lewis, Chelsea Sutton, and Jennie Webb, and a special new play presentation by writing team Taylor Coffman and Z. Lupetin.

JULIUS WEEZER will preview on Saturday, May 4 at 8pm; Sunday, May 5 at 4pm; Thursday, May 9 at 8pm; and will open on Friday, May 10 at 8pm and perform through Sunday May 19 at 4pm at the El Portal Theatre, 11206 Weddington St. in North Hollywood.
