Over 50 Musicians Join Forces for New 'Spread The Vote' Compilation

Independent artists from around the world have come together once again to create Talk - Action = Zero Vol. 2: a political action project curated and organized by Bank Robber Music and Rough Trade Publishing. The compilation album will be available exclusively on Bandcamp on Friday, August 28th and all proceeds will benefit Spread the Vote.

“Pepperland” Premiered two years ago in Liverpool, the Beatles birthplace, when the famous 'Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band' album turned 50 and the UK celebrated it spectacularly. It is coming to the Segerstrom Center Of the Arts this weekend, June 14th and 15th, 2019. Choreographed and Directed by Mark Morris, whose repertoire of creative work uses and melds music genres in innovative ways, with choreography that has unbridled enthusiasm mixed with stylish technique that immerses itself into the score and lyrics completely. It is his unique style, and the collaboration with Ethan Iverson, the Musical Director and Reconstructor of sorts, that has crafted this delicious and captivating romp through the '60s and The Beatles' 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' album, with a new twist and dimension to the score and brilliant choreographic concepts and costuming.

Welsh National Opera Returns To The Bristol Hippodrome In Spring 2019

Opening the spring season is a new production of Un ballo in maschera, where love, power and politics collide to create a tale of deception, intrigue and revenge. The second instalment in WNO's Verdi trilogy, the production is directed by David Pountney, conducted by Gareth Jones and is a co-production with Oper der Stadt Bonn. Performing from 10 - 13 April, the company will also bring revivals of Mozart's The Magic Flute and Donizetti's Roberto Devereux.

Full Casting Announced For Royal Exchange's THE PRODUCERS

The full company for the Royal Exchange Theatre's brand-new production of THE PRODUCERS, directed by Raz Shaw, has been announced today. Joining Julius D'Silva and Stuart Neal who play the wonderfully bizarre double act Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom, are MATILDA's Ms Trunchbull Charles Brunton (Roger De Bris), Hammed Animashaun, (Carmen Ghia), Dale Meeks (Franz Liebkind), Emily-Mae (Ulla) and an ensemble of 11 multi-talented actors. This wickedly funny, outrageous love letter to the Broadway musical builds upon the Exchange's growing reputation for reinventing celebrated musicals for its unique in-the-round theatre. Raz is joined by Choreographer Alistair David and Musical Supervisor Caroline Humphris. Featuring show-stopping songs such as Springtime for Hitler and When You Got It Flaunt It the production runs from 30 November 2018 - 26 January 2019.

Romance of the Rose Productions announces the first casting for the new West End musical Knights of the Rose. Directed by Racky Plews and created by Jennifer Marsden, Knights of the Rose opens on 29th June for 9 weeks only at The Arts Theatre. Leading the noble Knights is Adam Pearce (King Aethelstan) who is joined by Chris Cowley (Palamon), Oliver Saville (Hugo), Rebecca Bainbridge (Queen Matilda / Bess), Rebekah Lowings (Isabel), Matt Thorpe (Horatio), Ruben Van keer (John), Katie Birtill (Hannah) and Bleu Woodward (Emily). Ian Gareth-Jones, Kelly Hampson and Tom Bales make up the ensemble.

On Saturday, August 26, at 8 p.m. soprano Kristine Opolais and bass-baritone Sir Bryn Terfel join BSO Music Director Andris Nelsons, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the Tanglewood Festival Chorus for an evening of opera and song,including Act II of Puccini's Tosca. In addition to Ms. Opolais in the title role and Sir Bryn as Scarpia, the Tanglewood Festival performance of Tosca will feature tenor Russell Thomas as Cavaradossi, bass-baritone Sir Bryn Terfel as Scarpia, tenor Matthew DiBattista as Spoletta, and baritone Douglas Williams as Sciarrone (in his BSO debut). Ms. Opolais and Sir Bryn recently performed Tosca in concert together at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod on July 4, 2017, under conductor Gareth Jones.

???????On Saturday, August 26, Boston Symphony Orchestra Music Director Andris Nelsons will lead the orchestra in Act II of Puccini's Tosca, featuring soprano Kristine Opolais in the title role, along with bass-baritone Sir Bryn Terfel as Scarpia.
