Artistic Director Mikko Nissinen announces the Boston Ballet presentation of the beloved fairytale The Sleeping Beauty by Marius Petipa with additional choreography by Sir Frederick Ashton. Hailed as one of the Company's trademark works, this quintessential production features a soaring score by Peter Ilych Tchaikovsky, performed live by the Boston Ballet Orchestra, and sumptuous sets and costumes by Emmy Award-winning designer David Walker.

Boston Ballet has announced programming for the 2023–2024 season, which celebrates the evolution of the living artform of ballet.

This spring, The Royal Ballet celebrates the 75th anniversary of Frederick Ashton's Cinderella with a brand-new production of the much-loved ballet. On Wednesday 12 April 2023, the work will be broadcast live to 977 cinemas in 19 countries, bringing Cinderella's ethereal world of fairy godmothers and pumpkin carriages to audiences around the world.

On Tuesday, 7 March 2023, the renowned Canadian ballerina and choreographer Lynn Seymour –who served as Director of the Greek National Opera Ballet during its 2006/07 Season– passed away at the age of 84. Seymour took on the directorship of the Ballet on the invitation of the late, great GNO Artistic Director Stefanos Lazaridis.

The 2023 return to the Open-Air Festival at Maynardville ends with a captivating double-bill production presented by Cape Town City Ballet. LES PATINEAURS and LES SYLPHIDES are the perfect one-act ballets to be staged at Maynardville, the lush foliage of which adds to the magical element of these performances.

Cape Town City Ballet is  back on the whimsical and wooded splendour of the Maynardville Open-Air Festival stage.

This spring The Royal Ballet celebrates the 75th anniversary of Frederick Ashton's Cinderella which makes a welcome return to the stage in a new production with new set and costume designs. Segerstrom Center for the Arts presents the North American Premiere of Christopher Wheeldon's latest ballet Like Water for Chocolate from American Ballet Theatre for six performances from Wednesday, March 29 through Sunday, April 2.

Royal Ballet Principal dancer Laura Morera will retire at the end of the Season after a career spanning over 27 years. Her final performance on the Royal Opera House stage will be on Saturday 17th June in Kenneth MacMillan's Anastasia Act III.

Segerstrom Center for the Arts presents the North American Premiere of Christopher Wheeldon's latest ballet Like Water for Chocolate from American Ballet Theatre for six performances from Wednesday, March 29 through Sunday, April 2. Center audiences will be the first in the country to experience this magical Mexican love story with the stellar dancers of ABT translating this richly layered story.

Boston Ballet Artistic Director Mikko Nissinen announces the retirement of Principal Dancer Paulo Arrais from the Company and his appointment to Boston Ballet School's Professional Division at Walnut Hill as Full Time Faculty. Arrais joined Boston Ballet as an artist of the Company in 2010, was promoted to soloist in 2011, and to principal dancer in 2012.  

Quite why there aren’t more boundary-pushing, avant-garde, drag-slash-dance troupes around that appropriate film, TV and music to bring us satirically twisted versions of real-life and fictional historical figures, I really have no idea. So let’s treasure the ones that are around, eh?

Critically acclaimed choreographer Pam Tanowitz will present her second world premiere for The Royal Ballet this Season as part of a special programme in the Linbury Theatre. Hot on the heels of her November mainstage debut Dispatch Duet, Tanowitz's latest offering for the Company will be presented alongside the first revival of her acclaimed ballet Everyone Keeps Me and a film screening of Dispatch Duet.
