Artistic Staff Changes Announced at Actor's Express

With the announcement of the 35th season, Actor's Express is excited to announce new artistic staff changes as well as the introduction of four new board members. Amanda Washington becomes the new Associate Artistic Director. Washington initially joined the AE staff in 2020 as the National New Play Network Producer in Residence and recently directed the AE production of Sunset Baby by Dominique Morisseau.

National New Play Network Welcomes Five New Faces To Its Board Of Directors

National New Play Network, the country's alliance of nonprofit theaters that collaborate in innovative ways to develop, produce, and extend the life of new plays, has announced the election of Roberta Emerson (Director of New Play Development, Orlando Shakes), Alexandra Meda (Artistic Director, Studio Luna), Catherine Painter (Managing Director, Rivendell Theatre Ensemble), Rudy Ramirez (Associate Artistic Director, the VORTEX), and DeLanna Studi (Artistic Director, Native Voices at the Autry) to its Board of Directors.  

LIZZIE Comes to Actor's Express Next Month

Actor's Express continues its 34th season with a production of Lizzie, a blazing rock-and-roll musical based on the famous American history true crime story of Lizzie Borden.  “Lizzie Borden took an axe and gave her mother forty whacks. When she saw what she had done, she gave her father forty-one.” Or did she? Lizzie is directed by Jennifer Alice Acker, with music direction by Ashley Prince and choreography by Bubba Carr.

Actor's Express announces its 35th Season of dynamic, entertaining work, including a World Premiere and co-production with Oglethorpe University Theatre.
