Ava DuVernay, Sam Rockwell to Receive GOTHAM AWARDS Tributes

The Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP), announced today that Academy Award®-nominated and Emmy® Award-winning director Ava DuVernay will receive the Director Tribute and Academy Award® and Golden Globe® winning actor Sam Rockwell will receive the Actor Tribute at the 2019 IFP Gotham Awards. The first awards show of the season, the IFP Gotham Awards is one of the leading honors for independent film and media, providing critical early recognition to groundbreaking independent films and their writers, directors, producers, and actors with ten competitive awards categories.  The ceremony will be held on Monday, December 2, 2019, at Cipriani Wall Street, New York City.

Echoing the sentiments of the world's greatest rock concert on its 50th anniversary,Thomas G. Waites transports the tenderness and philanthropy of LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST to the era of enlightened love and transformative music. Presented with the generous support of The Jeff Hunter Charitable Trust, a cast brimming with emerging New York talent will bring the timeless verse of Shakespeare and enduring music of Woodstock to the Gene Frankel Theatre (24 Bond Street, between Lafayette and Bowery) for a limited engagement from October 3-26. The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra and Conductor John Morris Russell welcome Renée Elise Goldsberry, winner of the Best Featured Actress Tony Award for her portrayal of Angelica Schuyler in the smash hit musical, Hamilton. Making her Cincinnati Pops debut, Goldsberry will perform three concerts with the Pops on September 13, 14, and 15, opening the Pops' 2019-20 season at Music Hall.
